the topic says it all whats the differerence? is there any? would the 88 fit on my 85?

88 is different because the 88 exhaust y-pipe is different.
So, no, the 88 tube won't work on an 85.

But, you should be able to sell the 88 tube and buy an 85 tube no problem.

The '85-87 tubes have a sewn-on woven insulation blanket, the '88 has a corrugated metal heat shield. The '88 is longer because the EGR valve is slightly relocated on the '88 exhaust. The '88 should work just fine on the earlier motor, the early tubes have to be really stretched to fit the '88 motor.

The 88 tube should work fine on your 85, I've got a 87 tube on my 88 for a numer of years now with no troubles.

The length isn't much of an issue, I didn't have to stretch it any, just moved it over to the side a lil and it lined up fine.
