Or you can look into GM full size trucks/SUVs. Many from about 1998 on had the autodimming mirror with the compass and temp in it, although there are quite a few that had the temp and compass built into an overhead storage console as well.
I sell them regularly. I don't sell the temperature often, but I sell the dimming mirrors. I have the switch style on sale up to the end of the month. Here is my thread:
I do get the compass and compass/temperature mirrors in occasionally. The compass more so but I can put you on the list for a temperature. Beware though, the list is long. Ed

Most GM SUVs 1998-Up Most Buicks 1996-Up except Skylark Many Grand Prixs and Bonnevilles 2000-Up Many Cadillacs without in-dash display 1996-Up Most GM Vans (Mid and Full Size) 1998-Up
The Compass/Auto-Dim ones are self contained so just get a decent length on the harness coming off the mirror to splice into. The ones with Temperature has a sensor, and on some models a seperate temp module, that is exteranl and the temperature function won't work without it, although the compass and auto-dim will work fine without that.
The really cool ones are the ones with Onstar and all the functions listed above. The Onstar gives you three buttons to use as you see fit and a two-color LED that I use to signal me of something in the car, Green for OK, Red for check it out. Obviously the service isn't included, thought I'd throw that in there cuz I know someone is thinking that.

And to save you all some time....
Gentex will NOT sell parts for these, that includes the temperature probe!
So if you're wrecker hunting, grab it while you're there. If you see one advertised and they say to just go pick up a new one - don't bother.

Originally posted by cliffw: Nick, in the other thread, you said yours had the red illumination like the Fiero dash, and that you got it from ebay. Any idea what yours came from ?
The guy I bought it from actually used to change the color himself, I don't know how he did it. I'll see if I can dig up his user ID for you.

Unfortunately even in Pontiacs the temp/compass display green, not red/amber like the dash lighting
[EDIT] Alrighty, thanks to Paypal's meticulous record keeping, I bought them on the 5th of October 2003, and have no idea if this guy is still selling them. His name is Robert Prim, and his e-mail that I sent the money to was rtamirrors@triton.net I bought two mirrors from him, one of which he changed to amber/red, the other was the stock green, we installed the red one in my Fiero and the green one in my buddy's Sonoma. I don't know if that e-mail still works or not, but it may be worth e-mailing him and seeing if he's still selling them I was very pleased with my dealings with him, nice guy, the mirrors and sensors and wiring showed up quickly and all in great shape, and with instructions telling you what each wire on the harness was for.
Nick

Ok well not to hijack the thread but how do you wire them? I just got one with OnStar, auto dimming, compass and temp gauge built into it. I got it from a Envoy. It has 14 wires Anyone know how to wire it? Thanks Matt Jackson

The wiring isn't too bad, unless you want to get tricky with the built in LEDS and stuff.
Typically a Light Green wire is an ignition (12+ with the key ON - DO NOT hook this to a constant 12+ as your battery will die for sure) feed, and you have a Black/White or Black that is grounded. If you have the year Envoy I can give you more specific wiring advice. PM me if needed.
