I just pulled a 3100 SFI and 4T60E out of a 91 Cuddy for my supercar. This is basically going to be a temporary setup to keep the car running and drive-able as I develop the chassis, suspension, body, etc. The final setup will be an all aluminum V8 and probably a 4T65E or the new 6spd auto. But since this motor will be in the car for a while I might as well make the best of it.
The main thing I am interested in right now is what you did with the accessories. I am thinking about moving the alternator down to the other side where the A/C compressor is, and replacing the power steering pump with an idler pulley, keeping the factory tensioner, and finding a shorter belt.
I have the complete underhood wiring harness all still hooked up to the motor. Do I need any of the underhood wiring for this thing to run? I might pull the dash and get the rest of the harness and gauges, but then again I might get lazy and call someone to tow this wreck outta here if I don't need it.
I am tempted to do a custom intake manifold just for the heck of it. Has anyone done one for this motor before? I was thinking about a small tunnel ram style intake that uses all the stock hardware just for kicks. I am not really concerned about power right now.
Any help, comments, etc will be greatly appreciated. Anyone else have similar questions about this motor fire away...
