That looks awesome!

Did you use a dremel tool to polish?

Do you plan on doing the snout and throttle body?

Too bad nobody makes polished or chrome valve covers.

Thanks for the comps first time i ever polished alum. I started out with 80 grit then 320 finishing , the just used mothers polish and a buffing wheel, I am going back over it wiht a finer finishing paper then buffing again.I used a dremel in the center for the hard to reach areas. I have also started on the intake. So far I have about 3 hours into the SC. I am going to paint the snout and the rest of the Sc for now I may finish the rest later.

Nebiros , you will need to go back over it with a much finer finishing paper it helps remove the fine scratches left from the 320 , I am going to try a few more differant grits to hopefully make it shine alittle more. I am learning as I go so if I find anyhting that makes it any easier I will let you know.

Quick question and this may come off kind of stupid, what has to be done in order to remove the SC? mine is currently all installed, looks to be a simple unplug and unbolt and remove the belt but I dont really want to start taking crap apart until im positive i wont screw stuff up (not too mechanically inclined)

thanks

Wow....looks great

If there was a flat spot on that thing, looks like you could shave w/ it!

How is that going to be w/ the heat that is created by the huffer, as well as for long term life....ie: corrosion, and loss of shine?

I'd be shining away, but I have some thoughts for the motor cover, for those of us that don’t have that kinda patience to polish, shine, polish, shine...lol

The heat I do not see being an issue, It might get alittle hotter but I cant see it being more than a couple degrees. Dont really see how it would hold as much heat as it would if the cover was over it. I tried to come up with several ideas for a cover just could not get any to work,I wanted to make a cover that leaves top of sc exposed like the covers on an LS1 and cover over fuel injectors and valve covers.

THERE IS A PRODUCT OUT CALLED ZOOP SEAL. YOU CAN GET IT AT SUMMIT FOR 129.95 PART NUMBER ZOP-9550. GREAT STUFF. IT KEEPS IT FROM GETTING CORRODED AND TURNING TO CRAP IN THE WEATHER. A SMALL INVESTMENT FOR THE AMOUNT OF POLISHING YOU WILL HAVE INTO IT.
