Welcome to my weekend project. Today, I am stuffing a dual exhaust with two (2) full size mufflers, and two (2) shorty cats into my car. I first thought it would be an easy fit, but maaan... now I see it's sure going to be tight. I apologize for the bad pictures, I can't readily take pics from the top since the rear is jacked up... and you can't really see what's going on from the bottom. But... here's some pics of my progress:

From the top, looking through what used to be the trunk (now cut in half)

From the bottom side, showing the relative sizes and mandrel bent piping

Nevermind the duct tape and zip ties

I've mocked up the other side to make sure it all fits (and it does)... Tomorrow I weld up this half, and start mocking up the other side. Wish me luck....

uh... Good luck!

Gonna put a subfloor into the trunk so you have at least a little space for stuff? Might be an idea.

Absolutely. I already have that part done, so I have a "limit" on top to build around

I bought 2 cats and I thought I could make a duel cat exhaust by stagering the cats. Beat me to it, darn.

eh? You mean like 2 cats on the same pipe? Not at all what I have going - 1 cat, one muffer. (on each bank of cylinders)

2 pipes 2 cats into one 3 inch exhaust. I fugured that two seperate exhaust would be a lot of work.
