Are those the ones that can open up or out? or is that a diffrent version or something? Ive heard of that type, but dont know much about em

Or would I be better off with something like this, new for like 999??

Though, as I look im not sure where the 999 ones are, all I see are 1999 ?

Look like a Decah kit? If it says DECAH.....then it's Decah which IMO is a very good kit.

Does the Decah VDC swing outward? Yes. Notice the silver thimble-like cap? That cap is what separates the knock-offs. The cap prevents the from going straight-up thereby, avoiding the inside A-piller.

You will have to machine the bolt-openings into a OVAL shape. Plus the distal end were the shock mounts onto the bracket...needs to be re-positioned and spacers will be needed too. If you have a friend who can modify it, then your in luck? Otherwise you may have to take them to a skilled machine shop. XS Custom can modify them for around $500. Since you got them for $600 bucks....your already ahead.

The other kit I'm not familar with? For $999 your $100 bucks away from having XS Custom doing it.

So these hinges in the picture will open out or up? Whaat keeps them from flopping over when opened up? Why do I need to oval the bolt holes?

Why do I need to space those other parts? im assuming thats some kind of clearance issue.

Your gonna need to "modify" them. Not only the bolt openings, but also the strut mounting point. Here's a pic.

Notice the lower strut noubting bracket interfer with the wheel well. Call DECAH for more info. Why? Because the struts may be shot and you may need to replace them? If they are.....what is the cost of replacement?

Would I buy them? Only if it's DECAH kit and only with a VISA card. Decah had a sell last year I think? FieroRumor got his on sell for $1200, I think? I got mine for $1800 installed. So if you get them and then deside not to install them......give me a pm.

I hate bidding on E-bay! After waiting for the item to close...the darn price is nearly as-close to buying them new.

If you need convincing, just look at madcurls car (and the other cars that have 'em.)

Here are some pics of mine:

You will also have to shorten the arm that goes to the door. I made the mistake of simply shortening it and the door didn't swing out wide enough. Messed up my shiny new paint. You need to cut it, overlap it and weld it back on. You can kind of see what I'm talking about in this pic, http://desertlord.com/galleries/westfest/DSCN2715.JPG
Also, you will either have to drill new holes in the door for the bolts, or redo the mounting "pads". They don't match up with the stock bolt locations.
You need spacers because the hinges are flat where the mount to the frame, but the frame is not.
Madcurls is a modified universal kit. I think the universal is the same as the one for the civic but with larger mounting areas and no mounting holes drilled.
