Just a few pix of some Autobahn driving today. Hey, all you V8 owners over there in the US: It takes no N*, small block, LT1 or whatever to be fast, just a "no speed limit"! My stock V6 (with K&N air and oil filters) works just fine :-) (No flames please from the V8 owners, I am just having fun!)

There it goes! I talk about Fieros going 130 mph and they pick on my shirt. I can feel the tension building, the flame war is coming, the trash can looms, NOOOOOOooooooo..
Just kidding :-) Hey guys, this is Europe, we have the same s*** over here that you've got over there but our's is a little different...
well i am jealous - but thats not why i brought up the shirt - i was just trying to get some laughs (ie attention)
Easy - We just had a bottle of champagne since it's my wife's 30th birthday. Just finished the BBQ on the terrace, now having some shisha (Egyptian water pipe). So don't take any of my comments seriously...

Wuss....I pegged my 120 speedometer straight down at 6:00 when I had the 2.8 auto in my 87GT. And it was in Illinois, no autobahn here unless your talking audio gear.

So you're one of those dangerous drivers doin 120mph+ while trying to take pictures, shave, brush their teeth, eat breakfast and read the newspaper
haha just kidding, I wish I had a chance to drive the autobahn. At those speeds how does the car feel? I've had mine up to about 170km/h I think and it didn't feel safe at all. It felt like there was a lot of lift up front and that I was about to become air borne if I pushed the throttle anymore. Plus I could see my gas gauge falling haha.
I love Hookah's!! I just got a 49 incher What was your RPM at that speed.

Well if yellowstone has a auto then he would be 5100-5200, and if he had a 5 speed then he'd be at 4200-4400. I know the manual RPM's cause i just buried the speedo tonight
I've had the needle in about the same position with my 4 speed muncie and I was at about 5200rpm. My car felt really good at that speed. I've had fiero's that felt like they had alot of lift in the front but this one doesn't. Wonder why?

Where did you find that speedo background? All I find are the Ferrari style. Thanks, Ed
I made it for my 150 speedo conversion a few years back - i've given the plans to a couple people and made a set for one guy they are simple to make backlit using several layers of velum ot print on (gives them the same matt finish as stock) I actually still have crystals to convert 85speedo and 3 crystals to convert a 120 speedo

Interesting... My 85 gt had NO peg on the top speed side.... (85 mph speedo) I had it wraped aound the whole way before... My 86 SE had a peg after the 120 mph mark ... SO Seeing 120 on the seedo means "at least 120" .... Note to self.. need 140 speedo....

The car felt really good at that speed. But keep in mind that I have upgraded the suspension in a major way (see https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/043797.html), have just done an alignment and that I have wide tires on 17" rims. The car didn't lift up much in the front and I think that's because of the F355 nose. Also the pop-up headlight doors don't move anymore - with the stock nose they started to fly open at 100 mph.
When the road surface is bumpy the car will jump quite a bit and the steering is very "detached". But those are things that a 87 GT owner probably has to live with.
The Porsche, Audi, BMW and Mercedes (and some VW Golf GTI) kept passing me even at 130 mph and looked over as if asking "can't he go faster or doesn't he want to?"

I thought about that until I saw his wife in the picture. I figure the camera gave her something to do besides push on the "air" brake on the floorboard and white knuckle the dash.
Thanks for the post. I'm jeolous too!

With no speed limit and plenty of road even a duke powered Fiero can get up to 120 mph. No offense taken, but the point of the V8 is to get there very quickly. In American driving getting up to speed quickly is much more useful.
And yes I am jealous of the car, no speed limits, the autobahn and the wife...but not the shirt

Dude, yeah you need a faster car. I can see the Porsche passing you but......the Golf? Too bad nobody has a V8 Fiero.
In the USA, anyone with a very fast can a least get spanked in a Fiero if it's a V8. Oh well, at least you have the girl.
