That is the most ignorant-pathetic-moronic-ass9 thing I have ever seen... Uh' yeah let's shoot flames out of out tail-pipes.. all 4 of em'........ and our bumper is plastic.... DUH!!!!!!! Shoot the seller...

Nitrous really helps with that. When I used to race my 800hp Camaro on the street, once I hit the computer controlled N02 fogger, 10ft pulsing blue flames would shoot out the Cobalt exhust system It really intimidated the competition
gee whiz... everyone is so down on flamethrower tailpipes here. That was a mod I seriously wanted to do on my 70 Ranchero GT 429. The exhaust had a perfect bend a few feet back from tips where I could mount injectors. I was going to use an injector pulser, a seperate little fuel cell, and a dedicated buzz box that would run to spark plugs mounted in bungs over the tips right behind bumper. Haven't ever gotten around to it, was planning on fabbing up something with just a chunk of exhaust pipe first to see how well it might work.
I think it's one of those mods that is pretty cool, unless it catches on where everyone is doing it. One or two cars throwing out flames... cool. Every 17 year old's car shooting out flames with kit they bought at Autozone.. lame. Kinda like the first guy who mounted a weedeater or briggs engine on a scooter... kewl. Every damn kid on the block coming down the sidewalk all day and night going brrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmm on the scooter they bought at grocery store...... annoying as possible and I'd like to take a baseball bat to the next one.
My flamethrower idea was to spray a large volume of fuel under high pressure in a pattern out tailpipe and to be able to trigger it seperately so you could get huge fireballs in bursts as well as shorter solid flames in continous mode... doing that on a fiero could present some serious design issue so you wouldn't burn car to ground.
But just think about getting pulled over by police.... he's at window harassing you cause that's what the man does to Fiero owners (joke) and you casually ask... "do you smell gas?" having tripped the injector part of the circuit which has been fogging down the front of his cruiser for last 30 seconds. The voice recognition module you'd cleverly mounted in car recognizes that phrase and triggers the plugs for about 5 seconds lighting the whole front of the police car on fire. Ok, so it's childish, I'm 40years old and haven't gotten so much as a parking ticket in decades, and I wouldn't want to see anyone hurt or destroy property my taxes paid for... but the idea that I 'could' has some appeal :-) Sorta cross of James Bond, Dukes of Hazard, A team.... ok, that proves it.... the idea is stupid :-)

If you run a little rich, you can install a spark plug in the tail pipe and do the same thing.
That is a 1950's trick.

It was a step beyond a little rich... you would pull the choke closed on carb, load up the exhaust with fuel then slap the choke back open and blast it out tailpipe as you triggered a model T ford coil hooked to a plug in tailpipe do it wrong... blow the exhaust apart..., do it right... could get 10' fireballs out tailpipe.

I don't know how many guys watched the Woodward Cruise in their living room like I did, but there was a guy on there with a tricked out old Mercury who does flames big time and demonstrated it.
His pipes stuck out about a foot and a half behind his bumper.
Melting the plastic is a real possibility if not done right

Ive been to a few local shows where they had contest for the longest flames. There was a pick up with pipes running up the back of the cab. It shot them straight up in the air. Had burned spots on his roof. Used to be all you did was run a gas line back, had a coil and switch in the dash and a spark plug in the pipe. rev it up, flip the switch and poof. To be safer you can go to Autozone and get an exhaust tip that lights up, just connect a power wire lead to it. lol
* on a sidenote, anyone see the latest ' spinner ' wheels. They have neon lites built in and a self powered little generator so they flash when they spin I realllllllllly need to get some

Yeah, I saw that car too. Cops gave him a ticket for the flames this year. Too bad, I was looking forward to a weenie roast.
mine will do it too. i was on my way to a show a few years back and my brother was right next to me when i shifted. he said he saw a flame come out inbetween shift
its running a bit rich, how do i fix that?

I've always wanted to do a flame kit... and I was thinking of doing it the fuel injected into the pipe kind of way as opposed to running rich and cutting out the cat. but as mentioned... you have to be concerned about the heat and plastic. and I doubt a fiero would look too cool with pipes sticking back a foot and a half.

Why would you want to fix that?? My quad will shoot flames occasionaly... Anytime you're at full throttle the ECM goes straight to full rich (on an OBD 1 car), so when you slam the throttle shut to shift you get a bit of extra fuel for a split second.. travels down the exhaust till it gets to the tips, where there is enough oxygen to combust.
