Has anyone seen one of these lately? We sold one in 1985.......It was an '84 model. I am going to try to find out if the car still exists in our area. It had all the neat ground effects, whale tail and turbo'd duke. White uper and gun metal grey lower paint. The turbo had alot of lag in it as I don't think they had changed anything in the MAP or ECM programming to compensate. We fiinally pulled the turbo off because the gentleman that bought it didn't like the drivability it had. Just curious to see if there are any out there yet.

a forum member just picked one of those up recently. theres a thread below this one titled somethng like best notchback, theres pictures in there. it still has the turbo.

Guessing you mean FieroMonkey's Banshee. If this is the car you're talking about, its in Souther CA now.

The Banshee pictured above is not the same car that SD455 is referring to. The Banshee was not a Mecham car, but rather one of three identically built '84 coupes commissioned by a Denver Pontiac dealer (Great West Pontiac....no longer in business) in 1984. I almost bought the Banshee back in teh early 1990's, but the owner wanted too much money for it. Fieromonkey got it for a song......just a small fraction of teh price I would have paid in 1992.

Anyways.....I can't shed any light on the Mecham cars, but would be interested in knowing if any still exist.
