I have never been a big fan of chop tops. Just like most everyone else in this thread, it throws the proportions of the car off. It makes the nose look BIG. BUt there is an exception. For some reason MadCurls looks awesome to me. Not sure why, maybe someting to do with the other mods he has done and color choice. To me a Chop needs other exterior mods to help the look. A stock Fiero with a Chop looks awful, like some one stepped on it.

if i would fit i would love it but i have a problem w/ hitting my head on the roof w/ it at stock height... right now im laying down almost to keep from my head hitting the roof when i get on the bumpy roads w/ turns. so far i have like all the fast backs and ive only liked LT1 Stinger and the PurplePavement Pounder as far as "notchbacks" go... its all a matter of functionality to me...
Like the notch back version...not the fast back...but what I don't care for about them is the fact that you lose the glass in the doors. Having plexi there, makes it look cheap IMO.
I do, however appreciate the work that goes into making one, and applaude those that have one of these cars for straying from the path to show us something different. Plus with my height, not sure if I would care for the interior space

From my experience when I would take the GBCT to shows was that most people didn't like Chop Tops either....
No wait...I meant to say the LOVED the Chop Top....took longer to clean the car after a show than before, because of all of the finger prints. In all seriousness, I love the variety that the Fiero has alowed in the creativity in the community. There is a Fiero for everybody.

I think once you see a chopped fastback in person, it looks "right" proportionally. Makes you wonder why Pontiac didn't lay back the windshield a bit more originally

The fiero proportions are very similar to it's cousin the 3rd gen F body. If the Fiero had made it to the 2nd gen I bet the windshield would have been layed back similar to the 4th gen F-body. But this probably would have been done by moving the bottom part of the windshield forward and preserving the headroom.
I admit the chop top is not for everyone, that's what I love about the Fiero, it can be customized easily to the likings of the owner.
Ps- Joel, I think just as many people were drooling over the GBCT's LT-1 as it's chop top.

I TOTALLY AGREE!! Like other's have said.. It is not for everyone.. but, They are COOL AS HECK, and not really a problem getting in and out... lol

When I first saw the chop top, I thought it looked nice, but then I changed my mind. For those who like it, it is a good mod to set the car apart. As for me, I'll pass.

Trust me, it looks a whole lot better in person. The GBCT truly looks like an exotic when you see it driving. Lucky me, I also got a ride in it
I think the ultimate combination would be a formula with a fastback clip (but leave the formula bumpers and GFX) and a chop. Probably some Aus stage 2s on there also. I just think the one thing that looks out of proportion is the size of the side windows compared to the body. The formula body would look great for that reason (if it's lowered enough).

are the chop tops hard to get in and out or are they as easy as the normal fieros? i find a bi hard from the start (i'm huge and weigh 300pounds)
I'm 206Ibs and I have no problem. However, just like anything you buy, a person should look at the written or video instructions first before getting into a chopped Fiero period! Your best...bet is too look at those who have Fiero's that are chopped. If there is no one who is your size or smaller then there may be a problem. I think most are having a issue when it comes to stature or height? Songman and I may appear to be close in height but sometimes people are different from the waist up or taller from the waist down. With a choptop, it's the waist up that may cause a problem for "some." So having a little extra around the waist is the same regardless of any Fiero.

After you've driven & been around the chopped cars for a while, getting into to a stock Fiero is like getting into a Checker Cab.
I agree, I had the t-top out today and the windshield looked like it was almost vertical. The chop top starts to look like the way a fiero is supposed to look.
As for fitting in a chop top and getting in and out...everybody is different so your best bet is to sit in one first before you decide you can't fit. I have unusually long legs for my height so I sit low. The chop top leaves me plenty of room. However if you are not careful you can bump your head getting in and out. But it looks so cool, in my opinion it's worth it.

I think the chop top looks really cool.... maybe some of the chop top "haters" want to think it looks ugly because its an expensive modification.
Hmmmmm...you sir. my have a point?
Also I love this Corvette, put then again it's "out-side-the-box" thinking, so it was killed. Beside who would want a rear engine Corvette? I would. Hehehehe.

You have to see a chop-top for yourself. The pictures don't do justice. The first time I saw one at a car show, I was impressed. Really exotic looking! Obviously, it is harder to get in and out...just like a lamborgini
Maybe some of the Chop-top haters should raise the the roof 3 inches higher than stock, so they don't hit their heads!!!

Cheapens it just like the lexan sail panels or the GT Quarter glass sitting 1/4" away? Jeeze.
I am doing my own right now, and I am so impressed just from looking at the new lines of the chassis, I am thinking of doing my GT next.
I think that chopping the top is a great way to make the Fiero look more aggressive in much the same way lowering the front suspension does. Both the stock roof line, and stock front fender gap look awful after you see one with out.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I don't know. For those of you that haven't actually seen one and at least sat in one in person, can you really give a true opinion on it? If you haven't like me then you would have to instead base any opinions only from a few pictures posted like here on this forum. I know that until I get to see one and maybe even sit in one in person, I don't think giving my opinion based only on pics makes much sense or would be very fair to something I haven't yet experienced or actually seen myself in person. Nowhatimean?
