Which do you think would be better? I think Isometric is a lot better looking, but it is a bit harder to do, graphics-wise.

typical "top-down":

Very very very very very rough MESH: (for an isometric game)

Iso would be uber-sweet, but if you dont feel like the work is worth it, just go the GTA route.

I like the isometric (but that would be alot more work), so long as that isn't anything like the final mesh Isn't that the 84 Fiero one you paid someone for a while back? The GTA style top down ones were still fun!

Actually, I made that one at 5 am today from scratch,(hence it's cheeziness, no rear window! ) using an app that allows you to export 32 directions...I did use the textures from that 84 one...and slapped it together to animate it using a freeware anigif program.

I'll see how this week goes...

I'll try to whip something up sometime this week, and then you can decide which one ya want me to keep working on...The rest of the weekend, I'll be busy working on stuff for work.

Definitely top-down - isometric just looks out-of-proportion - your eyes want to see 3D, but they don't get to! Top-down works great in the first GTA, and it would be much easier to control in a driving game. Besides, "Thingie" looks best from the top
