Well now that I think about it HAS been a week since the last repair, but does anyone else get nervous when there's nothing wrong with their car? I'm just wondering what's going to go next, and how much it'll cost...

Heh, allll the time. My radio died a few weeks ago too, so now I hear everything. Every little creak and slightly different noise from the engine has me worried. It hasn't broken down on me all year!! ...and I know something's gotta give sometime. sigh. hehe
I did tons of research before I got my Fiero. When I bought it....I made doubly sure there'd never be a fire if I could help it. I also double check potential hazards periodically.....fuel leaks, oil on exhaust manifolds, wires/insulation/hoses looking ok....etc. Funny thing is....when I first got it and I would get behind someone burning oil out of their exhaust, or someone elses car smelt like gas....I would panic like crazy without even thinking.....I'm checking for smoke in the mirror....wondering when I can get to a stop off so I can pull over and check my baby. Then I find out its the car/truck in front of me. LOL
Also the first time I was driving in the rain....I didn't realize because of the unique shape and driver position of the Fiero....you plainly see the "vapors" kicked up by the back tires from speeding down the wet road, in your rearview mirror. The first time I saw this I thought it was smoke boiling out from the car. It took me a few secs. to realize it was water. After hearing all of the stereotypes for this car over all the years....I can honestly say none of them are deserving of the car, and I'm much more comfortable with it now.
------------------ I have the precious gift of patience.....it just takes too long to use it!
Why is it you always start out fixing one thing and it turns in to an all nighter fixing 10 things? Be glad you dont own two of them. Every thing I fix on one has to be done to the other. I know its bad and I just cant leave it that way. Last time I was let down it was the ignition module, now I look for trouble before it can happen.

I've also done all this almost to a T. It really freaked me out too, the first time I saw the tire mist! LOL Another good one is panicing over the steam vapors at the drive thru car wash!
