My son and I seriously considering making the trip. Having never been to one of these before, what do you usually bring. For instance, at other car shows I often see people bringing chairs to sit in by their cars. Camera, water, sunscreen, sure. Hate to ask what happens if it rains? Cheers.
Not wanting to miss the free pizza ... but a quick check shows 3 different Barone's. Local folks, which one is it?
You bring whatever you would bring to a regular car show. It has rained at Fierorama before and we still manage to have a good time. There's a McDonalds right next door and there's also shelter in the show feild in various places. We are already printing up maps that will be on the hotels check in counter for anyone going to the all you can eat pizza dinner. As i already indicated in my pizza thread, Barones address is: 4729 Main Street in Lisle, IL. There will most likely be a caravaan there too but, as i said, you will be able to pick up maps from the hotel lobby right where you check in. You could ask Archie where to park, He brought a drag Fiero one year and trailered it.
A drag Fiero...that's a Fiero rebodied to look like a Miata...(think I just revolted myself)
Wish I could go this year...Al Barone's an old classmate...ah, well...I'll have to teach the wife not to take me seriously the next time I poke fun at her... Besides, I don't think Archie'd want to pay the tab for TWO pregnant women in a feeding frenzy, eh, Jodi?

The pizza dinner is all you can eat so Archie only pays a one time price no matter how much you eat. Besides, somehow i don't think the pregnant women will be eating the most saturday night.
Good news - looks like we'll be coming down again this year (risking it with the car, but I'm confident... it can't be any worse than some of my other road trips ). My wife & I always enjoy this show - it was actually the first major show I attended after having joined PFF a few years back. It was wierd for me to meet all these people who knew me... yet I'd never met them before! (Monkeyman... are you going to be around this year? We've missed seeing you around lately).
Anyway... we're probably staying in Winona [MN] Friday night (unless I manage to get out of work early on Friday... then we'll go all the way to Milwaukee [WI]). Then meeting up with Firefox on Saturday during the day in the Chicago area - and it looks like this year we'll be taking Archie up on his free Pizza offer!
Cya all this weekend!
BTW - we won't be staying at the "host" hotel Saturday night... picked up a sweet 3-Star hotel off Priceline for $35 - and it's all of about 3 miles away (just south across the highway)!

Just go to Priceline.com - select hotels, search in the Oakbrook/Downers Grove area of Chicago... I gave them a price of $35 for their best quality hotel - and that's what I came up with
...otherwise, I know Racingman24 had mentioned being interested in sharing a room or something - maybe send him a PM

Don't forget that there will be maps to Barones at the desk of the host hotel so, if you are staying somewhere else, you might want to drop by and pick one up.

Not this year, Rob but thanks for asking. I miss you (and the rest), too. I'll be sure to make it next year, though. If you have any car trouble you have my number. I'll be glad to help out.

The Dells event is our Fall Cruise. It's at Chula Vista again, and it's just a get together for the weekend. No car show or anything, just a bunch of Fiero nuts getting together for a weekend of fun. We do have a large group coming out from several different car clubs, so it's going to be huge again.

The car has been washed/cleaned for the show tomorrow. I have a box of door tabs (Archie, I have your yellow set and a few different style gold sets to choose from.)
looks like I will be going again . nice weather again as well. what is this about a dells event in october???
October 2nd at the Chula Vista in the Delss. It's a 20th Anniversary end of the season (for the 84's) Party!!! No trophies, no classes, just all the clubs ending their fall color tours at the hotel for a huge party. I believe the hotel is giving the normal Dells rate of $79 a night (I think).
