Okay, I have a question. I know there are at least a couple of us out there that are running
carputers in our Fieros. My question is this.

What are you running for a screen??
Please post pics, I am wondering by chance if anyone has a similar idea as I.

I am installing a 9" CRT monitor into the factory head unit location, by relocating the heater controls.
I already have the monitor, and it looks awesome. No touch screen yet, but I am working on it.

I used to have a "carputer" in my old beretta. One question I want to ask is why would you use a CRT when you can get a TFT LCD for less than $100? But the last screen I used was a 7" touch screen by NESA.

In all honesty, two reasons.

1. Resolution. The CRT runs at 800 by 600, and the text on it is actually readable.
2. brightness. I want to be able to see it in daylight.

But mostly the resolution thing. I know you can get 7 inch LCD's cheap, but I'll post pics of the 9"
CRT when I get it installed. Actually fits in perfectly, if I cram it all the way back to the heater ducts, LOL

It really looks awesome.

I'm just running a 7" LCD w/ composite mounted behind the dash glove box. I'll post pics when I get home, until then BUMP! :P

https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/040379.html

is a thread i started awhile back. basically sums it all up? (paint, stereo, carputer, etc) I havent updated the pics for along time though so if there's anything you're interested in or want better pics of I can post them here or in a new thread.
