I picked up a set of their kevlar/metallic blends because they claimed to be great for autocross/ultra heavy duty use but still be manageable on the street and have excellent cold bite. They actually make them for the 88 Fiero (not sure about 84-87) and I got them on closeout off of e-bay for ~$85 for the entire car. They will be used for the 12" corvette upgrade.

Sorry that you purchase dudes. The porterfields are the best period! Also check out the STS/STX and Stock newsgroups on the ( SCCA forum ). They will tell you what is best for aurocross and it is not what you listed.

They weren't duds...they have not yet been used. I was just asking if anyone had any experience with them.

Holy crap, $80/wheel?!! I thought they were $80/axle! I know they are the best, they were too expensive for my blood when I thought they were $160! I will report on their perfomance once I install them and brake (pun intended) them in.

That is why they are the BEST. The coefiction of friction is raised from most aftermarket and oem friction rating of .23 to .42 pad. They generate more heat due to the higher friction thus more bite thus more braking performance with just an increase of rotor wear.

Yours is just a standard oem equal pads which is why they are "dudes". Not intended for the track, but everyday driving.

Both the HAWKS and PORTERFIELD pads IS intended for track and very HIGH performance driving.

Sorry that you just thought you HAD a great buy, but actually it turns out that you just purchased a very expensive cheap pads which can be pick up at any autozone for less than $20/wheel.

Look up bendix whose makes the pads and look up the coefiction of friction numbers and I bet they are in the low.20's.
