in an old fiero i used to own i had one from an olds Achevia and i liked it alot, it sat a bit lower and had a little angle to it that was more "User Friendly" now im on the search for another non fiero one, possibly aftermarket, but NOT metal too hot in the summer and my hand will freeze to it in the winter

lets see what ya got folks!!!
i like this one if i could find it in Grey or black

I want a different one as well (actually I would prefer a stick). The stock one seems a little akward and would like a more comfortable one. Anyone have any suggestions on where to shop for one?

Don't have a picture of it, but in the Finale we have the snakehead type shift knob from a mid to late 90s model Grand Prix. Looks good to me, bein gray, leather wrapped. Even has a button that was used for O/D shutoff. Found ours in a junkyard. The only thing that's rather difficult is getting the shift boot over the bottom of the knob. Just a suggestion.

P.S. Be careful while spelling shift....

I used a standard knob on my auto:

Just press it down to shift.

Take a look at the shifter in a H2, would be cool in a Fiero.

$Rich$, you said you were looking for a grey shifter, check his "other items for sale" there is an identical grey one for sale. I may pick up the tan one, thats a good price.

That's what I have, minus the O/D button and leather. I dyed mine black (it was also gray when I pulled it), then cut almost 11/2 inches from the shifter arm itself because the "new" snakehead sat up too high when I first put it on. Here it is after I cut the arm (ignore the broken radio/vent bezel, I know I need a new one):

i like the look of the snake head like yours but ive always thought they sat up about 2" too tall aswell,
did you also have to notch out on the shaft for the new clip?
how did it work out for ya?

No, I didn't because the shifter arm wasn't long enough after I cut it. When I put the clip in, it just missed above it because of how it sits on the boot (I even rolled the boot under, but I couldn't do that too much because how much slack I needed in order to be able to shift down to L1 if I needed too). So I wrapped a few small duct tape strips around the arm (adding more to the bottom than the top, then I hollowed out the end of the snakehead a little with a rotary tool) and jammed the snakehead down onto it - kinda like a reverse cone effect. It's held pretty good because it does require a lot of twisting back and forth for me to move it now.

Just test-fit my snakehead on the shortened shaft... 2 inches cut off, but I only cut the slot 3/4" (still needs to go deeper)...

The interior is being prepped for a 95 Firebird interior as we speak.

Here's mine. I think it's from a Grand Prix, but I'm not sure.

The Formula has the same style, only gray vinyl instead of leather. That one is for an early 90s Camaro.

I've got one! It's nice! I just don't have a pic of it in my cluttered interior! It's contoured to your hand!

No it isn't any lower. Might be slightly higher cause of the curvature of it to your hand compared to the stock. It isn't as long of a shaft either so there is a bare metal spot showing on mine unless you move the boot up. It is nice leather though.

EDIT another cool thing this guy has is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43961&item=2479638208
I paided $25 shipped for both. They fit nicely on stock Fiero rims!
