My 85 GT has the Aero nose and wing, but no auxilliary guage cluster. That was normal for 85's

It does not surprise me that that there may be some out there with no Aero package.

It seems more likely that it has some mix and match parts. It is more likely an SE.

All GT's (AFAIK) were produced with the Aero package... but you could order an 85SE with the V6 package in a standard "coupe" body (and this was not all that unheard of ). But the V6 doesn't make the GT... it's actually a body "trim" package.

Like Green said, they are'nt GTs, they are "2M6" is what they called them untill 88, then the 2M6 became a "Formula", same thing, cooler name. I belive the GTs have a slightly longer wheel base (according to two shop books we got) and th WS6 suspension.

You could get a V6 SE that had a normal coupe body in 85, as Rob stated. After that, in 86 and 87, the SE's all had the aero package...none had the standard coupe body. In 88, the SE was discontinued...however, you DID have the V6 Formula, which was a standard coupe body with the V6 engine, similar to the 85SE. All Fieros have exactly the same wheel base, as all of them are the same mechanically....that is, between the Coupe/Formula and the GT. The 88's differ from the earlier cars, but I believe they still have the same wheelbase. The only difference might be in the wheel track, due to the different wheel widths. Unless this is what your two shop books refer to, they're wrong.
