Mika, that is a terrific car!

On top of that, your idea for the top of the dash is exactly what I only thought of about a week ago. I'll be asking about it later. Actually, I think we all are going to be asking a lot of questions.

For now, welcome to the forum!

Hello and sorry about the late replysīs , I only have limited time hanging around in internet.

First of all THANKS for all the wonderful feedback you all gave !

Big thanks on this project goes to AM-Works Juha Martikainen that was first to design group B turbo setup with Garret T/o4 for Fiero and heīs acknowledge on this engine.

Here is few more details of the car:

- Turbo charger is Garret T/o 4 and it can produce 1,98 Bar of boost, YES we have driven with that setup and maaan it goes !
When we got the brake powers out we used 1,8 Bar of boost. With normal condition 1,2 Bar the power output is around 350 HP

- Block is bored to third oversize and machined to have bigger oil drain holes, bigger holes for bearings and itīs fully blueprinted and ultrasound checked.

- Pistons are hand made in Finland, they use same pistons in drag racing here. Compression ratio is very low: 8.38.1 so
without the turbo the car has no power at all. (at least feels like that LOL) we measured it to be around 3 liters, itīs actually eaven little more... These pistons should take beating up to 2,5Bar easily if the mixture is right.

- all moving parts inside the engine + torque converter have been counter weighted and measured to be stable eaven at high rpmīs around 8000. I use limiter at 6500 doh.

- we used high lift Crane cam and one Finnish machining shop altered the lifts and degrees to better suit turbo use.

- Holley multi hole injectors, (if I remember right, they were 45libs flow rate?)

- 3 Bar map sensor

- Accel ignition module relocated near the old battery comp, has itīs own aluminium heatsink.

- Throttlebody is bored bigger and has titanium shaft to hold the plate (more airflow because of the smaller rod)
the intake manifold is compleately machined , its wider and has smooth curves. BELIEVE ME THAT THE SMALL THROTTLEBODY IS THE SMALLEST PROBLEM ON THIS ENGINE !!!! LOL

- water injection system after the cooler.

- Transmission has failed now 3 times and doesnīt seem to hold the power at all, Iīm going for a full transmission swap this summer, (Getrag 5spd)

- custom water intercooler has a radiator in front of the car

- Haltech E6gm control box

- blaster coil, relocated far away from origianl plase

- splitfire spark plug wires

- motorcraft triple platinum plugs

- custom hand made stainless steel 3" free flow exhaust with no kat, also all emission controls have been stripped out, no use..

- custom hand made stainless steel turbo pipe + headers with strech plate.

---------------------
interior
---------------------

The original dashboard is fully intact under the new one, not a single hole had to be drilled, itīs attached through the
speaker holes to the original speaker holes, itīs made of plywood and glassfiber.

I actually have one earlier dashboard spare if somebody is interested, it has 3 speaker holes (one in the middle) for kicker R3 & tweeters and it also goes without any holes needed on top of the original one ? Itīs meant for "home theater" use, I tryed that also in this car...

Doors have been made of MDF and glassfiber without any mold (itīs very easy !!!!) I can try to make simple instructions and you can all enjoy nice door speakers ?
The speakers in doors are 8" Hertz mille series double magnet bass speakers, and believe me that they kick ass !

If your wondering about all audio beeing: audison and hertz, well itīs because Elettromedia corporation is my sponsor for audio equipment and they produse these too labels. (made in italy)

center console is made of very hard 6mm thick plywood and covered with same black leather as all other parts + seats.

I will be doing a Center console with subwoofer (high light assembly) this summer, Iīll keep you posted.

--------------------------------------------------

If something is lacking from technical side, sorry I didnīt fully build the engine my self , lot was done all over Finland and I have 12 companyīs sponsoring the engine modifications, I wisit numerous shows and meetings this summer to display the car.

Last thing, I will try to post later today a new address with little more pictures of what has been done to the car.
I also found one video clip 5 megabytes of the engine in the car, there you get the idea how BIG the turbo actually is, it also demonstrates clearly the air speed doubler in front of the turbo.

Thanks again.

AWESOME CAR ! LOVE the rims and the interior is sweet. Its custom, but still looks like a Fiero's interior. Wish it was stateside so we can see that thing in person!

Thanks,

Okay, here is a layout of the aluminium wingstands that I have done for my fiero.

The stand is little higher than the stock and it takes the spoiler further back on the
trunk so the car looks more aggressive. Mine was water cutted from 10mm thick aluminium plate.

I have also 1 pair left for sail if somebody is interested, just make a good offer !

Oh and if there is interest on these, I can send you the
Autocad drawing in e-mail, just let me know !

Also I was just wondering that if somebody is not reading this thread, should I put the wing stands
under their own topic in the main menu, cos I like to share what I have done for all Fiero enthusiasts ?

Best rgrds,

Mika

Well, I'll be...this was, precisely, the reason I began to think of the similar dash...the center channel . It will be nice for movies also. But the reason I want it is that, eventually, I want to configure an SACD/DVD Audio system (yes MP3, too). Many of these discs are coming out as multichannel music where the center is a must. In my initial concept, a small center speaker would go nudged right behind the volt/oil guages and framed by the faux dash. I wish I had some spare money to try the one you have.

The other stuff in your car is also far out! Bask in the glory of admiration while you can...because you are about to get swamped by requests

I found one earlier picture of the first "plug in" dash I had , there you can clearly see the 3x 2way sets and panasonic ac-3 dolby digital prosessor in the center console. here it is:

I wonder what it costs to send it ? Cos I donīt wanīt much out of it ?

Mika, again, just a superb bit of engineering.

I am curious though. You used the stock valve covers but you have alot of horsepower. What lifters did you use on the valves?

There are aluminium roller rockers, the secret is that we needed to machine few millimeters of aluminium
away from inside the cover to get the needed clearance for the valves, (yes It can be done) I believe I have somewhere a picture of them, Iīll try to find it this eavening and post it here.

I sent it again. BTW, to check if you have a PM you have to actually go to the bottom of the page where the main forums are listed. It is the last section.

Are these the rockers?

Or if not, similar design so that grinding the valve covers would give clearance?
