I'm still working on mine... As I mentioned before, the Beretta book that I bought only covers the regular gauge cluster and not even a mention of the digital. I'm going to go to a Chevy dealer soon and see if they can print me something out. I'm busy doing an engine swap on my old truck now so the Fiero projects got put back.

I have two of these Beretta digital dashes sitting on the shelf. I was going to hook them up but there is a problem. The tach on these dashes works off the ECM data line. Trouble is it only works with the Beretta computer so it won't work with the Fiero ECM. If you could wire up a Beretta 2.8 or 3.1 ECM with a custom chip that would run the Fiero engine you would be in business.

Even if you could hook it up, you may not be happy with it. My 88 Beretta had the digital instruments, and was nothing but trouble. It would blank out, and then come back on with a couple of thousand miles more than when it shut off, MPH would fluctuate up and down while you were holding a constant speed. If you had the cruise set when it did this, the Service Engine light would come on, shortly. Bought it new, and in the first 16 months I owned it, it was in the dealership for 19 weeks, having problems with the instrument panel. I believe they used that same panel for several years.

I am currently working on getting the Wiring Diagrams from my 86 Shop Manual scanned in. Send me an e-mail and I will send you a copy of them. They should be the same for what you are doing.

The car I am putting mine in has a 94 Cutlass 3100SFI.. It uses all the Cutlass electronics... everything from the wiring, ECM, all the way to the VATS key... So I'm trying to combine 94 Cutlass electronics, Fiero wiring (up to the dash), and Beretta electronics... This will never work!
From my research, this dash unit was only available in the 89 Beretta and was never used in any other models...
The only odd things might be the fuel sender and oil pressure sender. GM loves to use 120 ohm senders with digital dashes for the fuel gauge and used 120 ohm fuel pressure senders on 91-92 and up depending on the engine. 3100 SFI might fall in that group.
You can easily swap in a 120 ohm OPS and using the 90 ohm fuel sender will just mean it won't read full on the dash.
The other *possible* issue (which I don't think you will see) is that the tach signal doesn't come from the ignition, rather the dash gets it from the ECM. When the ECM isn't sending out ALDL diagnostic stuff it's sitting there spewing out a bunch of little packets and one contains the RPM. The Cutlass Supreme digital dash in at least 91 and up works this way. I was going to use one in my Ciera GT/SC and I had to modify one those packets so the tach would work.
But I don't know if they used that in 89. If there is an ALDL input to the dash, then you will have this problem.
Finally, the dash wants an 0-5V signal from the ECM so you might have to make the cool Rockcrawl circuit to drive the speed.
Ok, four things....
Terry

im installing this into my project car, so if it works it works, if it doesnt, it doesnt. the car is an auto so i dont need a tach.
Darth Fiero: did you have the wireing diagram for the comsole? i will meed it to hook this up.
For exactly what year, make, and model vehicle do you need the diagrams for? Just the center console or the instument cluster? Let me know, I have them all and will email them to you as soon as you tell me what you need.
