First Toyota copies the Fiero, now the Aftermarket is coping us! Whats next??? 3800SC/4.9l Caddy swaps into MR2's?????
Guess they are saying they really want Fieros
Don't you know yet? The 3800 has been swapped into the MR2 quite a few times already, its a little more harder of course then the fiero's swap, but it has been done.

maybe they just modded an existing kit for the fiero to fit the mr2
Think again.
There are complete kits to convert MR2s to Ferrari replicas too. I have seen a couple online with Lexus V8 transplants in them as well to complete the package. Hell If you search hard enough you may evn find there is a www.v8marsumi.com or something

look is about the only thing that would be right in that statement. Mki's are small compared to fieros. Fieros are not really small, they are just compact.

Actually, the MR2 came out in 1984 just like the Fiero. I'm sure both cars were in development long before 1984. To find the father of these cars, look at the Fiat X1/9 by Bertone.

...ahhh The sound of reason! Music to my ears.
People who think that Toyota "copied" the Fiero concept apparantly don't realize that these cars were in development for many years ahead of time!
...must be some of the same people who said that the LOTR movies were a ripoff of the earlier-released Harry Potter movie
I am going out on a limb here but I am assuming you don't like Fiero based ones either as the wheel bases are near identical and the Fiero is only about 1" wider. The 2nd gen MR2 has the advantage of a more realistic curve to the windshield and a more Ferrariish (Is that a word?) back window.

I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that wise-crack! ...it was from an O/T thread a long (Forum) time ago (wel, before your registration date at least ). Just for the humor and my usual propensity for old threads... it was something that I recalled from Triad's post a little ways down in this topic: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Archives/Archive-000003/HTML/20020511-6-004898.html (dated 12/23/2001)

I will give you guys some facts. There is no 84 MR2's they are 85 model and up. The MK1 85 - 89 is smaller wheel base smaller length shorter height and smaller width. The MK2 MR2's 90- 96 I think are about same size overall all as the Fiero. I belong to a MR2 forum I own a 85 white MK1 MR2. This is the first I have ever heard of a Farrari kit. I must say it has some nice lines to it. Swapping in a 3800 sc is dumb the factory Turbo MK2's can support 500hp with stock internals and spin 8K rpm. Why would they put in a low reving V6 in place of a high reving turbo 4 banger. The N/A models can make 200hp to with the right mods. 300hp if you go real crazy. ------------------ 85 GT 4 speed 2.8L auto X'er

These kits are not shabby but are taking a beating from Ferrari as kit builders have always received. Heres some kewl stuff from the fiero rebody forum.
------------------ Who ever said working on Fieros wasn't any fun?? They must not of had a rebody!
