Hello,

I was wondering how many people have this setup and if people could post some pics of their cars. I know there have been pictures of a green one that were on here not too long ago and I will look for them in a bit, but who else has them.

Thanks everyone.

Here's a stage two kit on an 85GT chassis.
I have a stage three (fastback style) but it isn't finished yet.

I found this one last weekend. I didn't know what it was until I got educated on the forum.

You're not crazy. There is a bit of a similarity.

When I got my IMSA Body, one of the big reasons I wanted it was because I figured I could put big wide tires on it. I mean after all it's wider..... right? ...... Wrong.

Have you ever noticed all of the IMSA's you've seen always look like the rear tires/wheels need to come out farther?

The problem I found is that the arc of the wheel wells on the body is a lot smaller/lower than a stock Fiero body.

Notice how the side trim on a regular Fiero is interrupted by the arc of the Fiero wheel opening.

Here is a picture of the IMSA I had..... notice how the wheel opening is smaller/lower than the stock Fiero. Also note that the IMSA kit has what's called a "Return" on the inside of the wheel well that contours back and meets up with the stock wheel well liner. So that the "Lip" of the wheel well that extends down below the original opening is 2" to 3" wide. So you can only bring the wheel/tire out anymore than they are on this IMSA.

To bring the wheel out to the lip of the wheel opening, you'd have to open up the wheel opening to clear the tire. Kinda like this...

I hope this helps

Archie

Wow thanks for the pics and information so far.

I'm not sure which I like better the Aussie stage 2 scoops or the IMSA widebody. Then again I don't like the rear view of the Green fastback.

I did alot of searching and found still more info on here.

So anyone have any lighter colored Wide body fastbacks with a different spoiler?

Thanks again you guys are great!!! Coming here is like visiting a car show sometimes!
