That was Kris and Audrey Munsen. The Formula was just purchased from a collector in Colorado with 111 original miles. It was brand new!
I had actually seen that Formula the week before as Kris was bringing it home. Tam and I were on the way to Daytona, and passed it as it was emerging from a rest area (on a trailer), south of Atlanta. I remember thinking that it sure looked to be in nice condition.

The guy told me that the GT was almost to the limit of towing. But thats how he got both cars up to the show and it seemed to do fine.

To be honest, it had 112.6 miles on it!
Kris and Audrey have driven it to death since they bought it a few weeks ago......it now has 113.3 miles!
He said he had some issues with the drive, most of them related to the dolly itself. I have hauled many Fieros behind a bone stock '88 GT without any problems, but I had a different dolly.
I'm glad they were able to bring both Fieros with him. I really wanted to see the mods Kris did to his front end and I, of course, wanted to see the Formula again! They also took home a trophy for the Formula, so the trip was well worth it (I hope!).
I've towed my blue '88 GT with my silver '88 GT numerous times. Meant to get pics but never got around to it. You can imagine the looks, stares and finger-points.
I can see towing a Fiero with a GT might be ok, for someone with towing experience, but how bout stopping? Stock Fiero brakes aren't the best in the world IMO. Do you do something different with the brakes when towing one with a Fiero?

Id much rather you get a shot of your fiero on the road out on the interstate. You need to drive it out on the road every once in a while to make sure it gets all that carbon blown out.

I can't speak for Kris, but when I used a Fiero as a tow vehicle it was just a stock GT......it was an '88 though, so the brakes really weren't that bad. Don't get me wrong.....it took a LONG time to come to a stop, but I also had the advantage of downshifting the auto (engine braking)......Kris' GT is a stick, so I doubt he did much of that. I'm not sure if his clutch would have held out!
The braking was "ok" because I installed the brake upgrade from Fiero Store.Still had to use the gears to help slow down since the wieght of the two cars was very close. The upgrade created a shimmy in the front end at about 55 to 65 mph and the dolly started shaking at about 60 mph so there was a problem with vibration. There was also a problem with the engine temp getting high through the mountains. Part of the engine temp problem may have been due to the location of the sensor right above the exhaust. I had the lap top on for a short period of time and the actual engine temp at the computer sensor was indicating 10 to 20 degrees cooler than the dash gauge. We made it back with no major problems. We did have to suffer without a/c for most of the trip due to the engine temp but that was minimal. I enjoyed the show and Waterford. I do not think we took a picture of the cars together. We were to busy getting pictures of all the great looking cars that were at the show.
