The new 2003-2004 GrandAm's have them. and I know some of the 3800SC from 2001 have been put in a fiero. So could the 3.4 from 2003 be put in a Fiero and would it bolt up to the transmission? Did they change the bolt Pattern? I cant find much info. I'm not saying I could aford a car just to put the engine in my Fiero but someone will buy one of these cars and wreck it I'm sure.

I ask because I found no prior post about someone trying this. Thanks for your time.

You still have to move the starter, But it suppose to be the same bolt pattern as the other 3400/3.4L engines so I assume it will bolt up. Also it's the 2004, I don't think they are selling the GPX cars except for the Grand Prix.
GPX cars are the
Vibe with a 2.4SC
Grand Am with a 3.4SC
Bonneville with a V-8
Grand Prix with 260hp 3800sc

The FWD 3400SFI should have the starter on the correct side, and the same bolt pattern on the bell housing. It also has bolt holes for the 2.8 V6 mounts, I believe, as it's basically an updated 2.8. I think you have to use the 88 U-bracket for the front engine mount. At least, that's how it is on a 99-2002 3400SFI. We'll have to wait and see if the 3400SC is the same.

That could be a great engine - even better than the 3800SC, because it has aluminum heads and weighs LESS than the Fiero 2.8, and is actually smaller (narrower, etc.) It won't have near the aftermarket support, but it could be yet another great alternative engine.

If this 3400 SFI is like the 97 minivan 3400 SFI, you can use the L bracket from an 85-87 V-6. You'll need to grind some of the flanges on the oil pan Since the flanges are used only to support using the oil pan as a mounting point, it is no big deal.

the 03-04 Grand Ams dont have them. I doubt they would ever put more power in the Grand Am then in there prized new Grand Prix. The GXP Grand Am with the 275hp S/C 3.4 is a Show Car

The 3400 with the supercharger won't fit in a fiero because it would be sitting way too close to the firewall(aside from taking out the one lid hinge).

I have an Eaton M90 that I will be adapting to the other side of the motor eventually...once I get the car on the road for a while...and when I find someone to make me a jackshaft to run the pulley up to the front of the motor.

I can post pics if you want(of the 3400 and my future eaton setup)

Yeah I would love to see your 3400 put some pictures up. What would happen if you used different mounts and lowered this engine in the cradle? I know guys with 3800s that have done this so they can add a inner cooler. Could you do this with the new 3400SC? Plus how did you get your info on that? How do you know it would not fit? I dont doubt you just wondering?
