Looking for some rear rims to mount wider tires (285s or 295s). I have coilovers, so clearance shouldn't be a problem. Does anybody know of any wheel vendors who make them in the Fiero bolt pattern? I really like the Speedy ATIX-5 in chrome, but they only go up to 18x8, which would limit tire width to a 255. Thanks!

blah! you can probably jam a 265 or a 275 on a 8" rim...even then something to think about even with coil overs i was told your not supposed to put anything over a 265 on..
few more things to think about i dont know what kinda engine you have but a 245 is still hard to break loose esp with some good sticky rubber....
also any tire over a 245 are just ungoddly expenesive....
ive seen/heard of people getting rims they like and take them to a shop and they will cut them in half and actually widen them out for you..
a 245ish size tire is going to stick out still...your gonna have to make sure you can find the right offset also

Yes, you could jam a 265 on an 8 inch rim, but the tire performance would be compromised and it would look silly. The rim widening companies only do steel wheels - aluminum alloys can't be widened (so I'm told, anyway). As for power, I'm running a fuel injected 383 in excess of 450HP. The problem of tires "sticking out" is purely due to incorrect offset - the whole reason for going to coilovers was to gain a couple of inches of clearance inboard vs the stock spring perches. So, back to the original question - Anybody know of any 18x9 or 18x10 wheels in a Fiero bolt pattern?

considering how much money you've already spent on your car, have you considered custom rims?

artherd here on the forum has Konig Imagine wheels in 18x8.5-38 rear with 265/30-18 tires on stock '88 suspension. He had his rear hubs modified for 5x4.5" bolt circle, though. I think that he's said that 9" wheels wouldn't be a problem with coil overs, but he has an '88.

On my '87 GT I'm running 16x8-25 rears from a Grand Prix on 5x115 hubs and 255/50-16 tires. They stick out slightly at normal alignment settings, but look really good if you set your camber for -1.5 degrees.

I have coil overs, and after taking some measurements, I think 17x9-38 wheels would just fit, but I don't know if anyone's done it yet. If 17x9-38's fit, then 18x9-38's would fit also.

Personally, I wouldn't go wider than a 255 on an 8 inch wheel.

Fondmetal 9x come in 18x8 and 18x9s as well as 19x8 and 19x9. A 255/35 is best used when fitted to a 18x9 and still has plenty of sidewall.

There's a tool called the WheelMate that was developed just for this question. The link below explains how it works. You can either contact the WheelMate company and ask if any automotive business's have it in or your area, or call your local Tire Rack store and ask if they have one.

On an 18x9, would a 35 or 45 offset be better on an 88. Voxx has a nice looking 18x9 with a 5x112 pattern on the 35 offset and a 5x130 pattern on the 45 offset. I know I would have to have my hub redrilled, and the 112 pattern would fit for sure. I don't know about 130mm though. I'm figuring the 45 offset would be better, but I'm not sure if the pattern would fit.

This will help you find the rims and what they look like. I also think they only will show you what does fit the Fiero but I could be wrong. It may or may not get you the right answer but will show you what is out there.

What aspect ratio rim diameter? That's a huge tire for a 7.5" wide rim. What tires, if you don't mind my asking? For example, according to Tire Rack, a BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KD in a P265/35-18 will fit on a 9"-10.5" wide rim, with 9.5" wide being the "measured rim width."
