There is a thread here some where that Archie posted with "spy" pics of a GT40 body he was working on to (eventually) be made into a kit. He was making a replica of the original car not a replica of the soon to be released "Ford GT"
Speaking of the Ford GT. I was reading an article about the building of the Ford GT and they mentioned how the mid engine design allowed them to mount the fuel tank down the center of the car which made the car a lot safer which was a good thing since they were building it in such a hurry that they were not crash testing their "workhorse" vehicles (since they had so few) and were doing all of their crash tests in computer simulations. Pretty interesting stuff. Makes me really wish I could see a car company build another car like the fiero with the space frame/body panel construction but using modern design tools and techinques. Plus a modern powerplant. I hate it when I see a superior idea get shot down because of bad publicity. There are a lot of times in fairly recent history when that has happened though. Marketing really is everything! Just because a product is superior to anything else on the market doesnt automatically mean it will succeed!

The new Ford GT is almost a dead ringer for the original one, so a kit would look like the original 64-66 or the new one. Since there is a kit GT40 for the Fiero using the original Fiero roof, I dont see why you couldnt modify it to fit a stock car with a little work. Now you have to find someone who will sell you the front only. You should because they would need to have repair parts for accident victims.

jlhuber, your signature pic offends me. Please remove it.
If you are saying that because it says "FORD" on the shirt ...it is gonna stay right there. On the other hand, if it is because of the ...uh ...well, you know then I'll take it off.

For those of you interested in the new Ford GT compared to the original GT40 . Pick up a copy of the July 2003 edition of " Automobile " magazine . A twelve page spread on the old and the new .

ALL I HAV TO SAY IS SOME PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD NEED TO GET A LIFE AND STOP WORRING ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE R DO'ING..I LOVE THE SIG...SAME STUFF HAPPENS WHEN THERE IS A GREAT SHOW ON T.V AND PEOPLE RAG ON IT BECAUSE THEIR KIDS WATCH IT..NEWS FLASH DONT LET UR KIDS WATCH...DONT SPOIL IT FOR THE OTHER PEOPLE
Ducattiman, i agree with you. Mostly everyone in Europe are not offended like americans. And there not freaking psychotic either, well maybe here n there.
It's weird how your trying to censor the internet.
And that sig isn't offensive at all. I would have thought the Girls Gone Wild video commercials are way more offensive then that of a cartoon which has clothing.
The three stooges are censored. I never knew that. This guy in chicago started showing the episodes that were never aired on tv because it offends people. But what we are really missing, is part of history.
BTW, that sig has more tastes then an image of a joint being lit up.
