Monkey,, I can only speak of what it did on my wheels. I have A/R Pinzettis,, they are painted, cleard andthe whole inside and outer rim is a polished aluminum withotu a clear coat.. I have tried absolutelty everythign from Magueirs to the cheap stuff and lots of elbow grease and have never been able to get into the nooks and cranies let alone get half the crap off my wheels.. I drive my car everyday so it makes my wheels really dirty..All I did was spray the stuff on cool dry rims. Let it sit 5 minutes,, Oh I did keep spraying the stuff on to really give them a soaking..I could actually see the grime and stuff even the buildup of crap in the crannies literally being burned or disolved before my eyes..
Anyone that hass seen my car before knows I hate my rims and I refuse to take the wheels off to clean them at each car show.. If you are at the dells this year, stop by and see my rims..You will be absolutley impressed at how clean and shiny they are..
I found this product to be my answer,, it may be differnt for others. I am only trying to help those that have the same problem as me, since I hate dirty rims,, and thsi is the first time I have actually seen them shiny and clean since I bought them

I went out and bought this stuff after reading this thread. Tried it on the weekend and it just about ruined my wheels. My wheels are all polished aluminum and the instant the cleaner touched the rim it created a very very dull haze. Took me about an hour of polishing to get back the shine. It's not worth it. Awful stuff.
Yeah I tried this a long time ago when this was first suggested. His wheels had to be very dirty so whatever liquid he put on there would of made a difference. But for me it just didn't bring out the shine enough. At least not to brag about or boast about it. Sorry just my opinion, maybe others got better results. Although I did goto the carwash and use the high pressured sprayer too on it...
I don't know about the other products but ordinary kerosene seems to clean the brake dust, road and tar scum off of my painted wheels pretty darn good. A guy at my local car wash recommended this "product".
Any of these products is too much of a risk. Try a small area FIRST.
If you want to be safe, and get good results, use a simple all purpose cleaner.
I found [i]Purple Power[/i[] to be very good.
You can use it on just about everything in house & home.
I use a 50/50 mix in a old Windex bottle and spray it on my wheels & tires. Then use a funny looking long scrub brush to get in the diamond spokes. Works great.
I use Super Clean for all of my heavy duty cleaning. 50/50 to 5/95, cleaner/water, mixes. Don't use it straight unless your wearing gloves. The next day, your skin will be peeling off.

3 cans of engine degreaser, a couple of those nifty Saran Wrap covers and about $3 in quarters at the local carwash for the high pressure washer usually does the trick for me.
(Careful around clearcoated stuff, turned colors on me, once using engine degreaser.)
