Well, I'm going to have to replace all my ball joints real soon, I'm going to get poly's (is there anywhere cheaper then fiero store?), but I think I want to replace the A arm bushings too, might as well. I want something higher performance. I know about Poly for them too, but west coast fiero (www.westcoastfiero.com) carries some that are caled "Delrin". Anyone have them? Are they good? How much better then poly are they??? Are they worth it? Thx guys!

You may also want to check out www.8shark.com - they have some UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) bushings. UHMW is a great material that supposedly outlasts Delrin.

Going from rubber to poly has a very slightly noticeable increase in ride harshness, well worth the increased handling for me. Beware, though, the UHMW or Delrin bushings will increase ride harshness quite noticeably in comparison to your rubber bushings. The UHMW/Delrin bushings are really unnecessary for a daily driver...you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in handling between that and poly anywhere but on the racetrack.

I don't like poly. Polyurethane is a sticky plastic that adds unnecessary friction to the suspension.

I made a set of delrin bushings a while back. I'm replacing them with UHMW now. Needless to say I think that UHMW is a better material for this application. However, UHMW is UMHW, and there are many varieties of delrin which may be more or less appropriate to suspension bushings. The variety I had at the (incorrect) clearances I was running did not do well.

I recommend 8shark's UHMW bushings. I haven't used his bushings though, as I'm making my own.

Another thing to consider is XL-UHMW. It has better NVH characteristics than regular UHMW, although it is quite hard to find.

Thx! Ride comfort is'nt exactly something I care alot about, lol. How much of an improvement would I see from ruber to poly a arm bushings? Poly to that stuff (fromt the link you gave me)? ruber to that?

One semi off topc question, will I see any handeling change in the poly ball joints over the ruber? Is there anything like allunium ball joints or annything like that?

Razor_Wing - I think that the "Poly Ball Joints" that you're seeing in the kits are the ball joint boots not the ball joints themselves - Ball joints are typically all metal, although some have "self lubricating" nylon or other synthetic ball cups down inside.

I don't know of any real advantage to the poly boots for street use other than they look good. I think their main utility is in protecting the joint from damage by debris. Great for offroad.

Pretty much the same for the tie rod boots - the look good & provide some additional protection.

Lol, yeah, that just hit me! If my ball joints are bad, I need the actual ball joints, not just the poly "boots" don't I? lol. Are there any "high performance" ball joints or just factories? Where is the cheapest place to get them? How much?

Ah, now you understand why my forehead curves inward - DOH! <SLAP>. Realizing what I already knew.

For high quality & some adjustability, there's no beating the Moog Problem Solver ball joints. They're the best out there for OEM replacement IMHO. They should be available from any decent parts store. Just make sure that they're made by Moog.
