I just bought a deck, now it has 1 RCA set of wires out the back (perouts I think its called). Question is can I only hook up 1 amp? If I can only hook up one amp should I get a 4 channel amp to run the sub and the front speakers?

Thanks for any help.

As long as what you hook the RCA's to has a line level amp (Most decent aftermarket amp do) You can just buy "Y" cables and split the two RCA's into 4 RCA's.

Quick answer - yes, you can only hook up 1 amp.

Long answer - no, you can split the signal and run a mono/stereo configuration, but it won't sound that good.

4 channel amp? Not needed if you only have 1 output. Also check what that out put is - front, back, sub, etc.

No, you can run as many amps as you want. Though you will not need an amp for anything but a sub in a Fiero. The deck should put out more than enough power to run some mids and highs. If you are wanting to do an award winning system then you have already bought the wrong deck. This is how you work it. Install the headunit. Buy 4 nice sounding speakers. I recomend Infinity 4X6 plates for the sail panels. Then some ifinity 5 1/4 to put in the dash. Next you buy a mono or 2 channel amp depending on how many sub 1 or 2. I personally would go with the mono channel then wire the subs in parrallel if you are wanting 2 subs. Uptoya though.
Hope this helps.

You can run as many amps as you like...

If you only have one set of pre-outs, you can simply put a Y-splitter to change 1 set of pre-outs into 2...

We have done this MANY times at work and will continue to do so
