I bought a set of decklid mirrors from Chris at the 20th.

What do I use to install these? Do I have to remove the decklid?

Thanks...

What I used was some 3m double sided tape and a bead of RTV about 1/2" in from the edge of the mirror. Been on the car for over 2 years now.

I used Hi Temp RTV (silicone) for engine gaskets, just make a perifary bead run and some X's and O's, used two medium size tubes to install both mirrors. No issues on this end and they survived Waterford Hills Racetrack!!!
You can hold them in place with masking tape until the RTV is cured (overnight).

Like that other guys said above.

I asked the guy sellng them about install. He said he suggested using double-sided foam tape (like the stuff for the GT quarter wins) and beads of silcone. Said the foam tape holds it long enough for the silicone to cure.

Chris is a good guy. I met him and his wife at the FOCOA show in Williamsburg in 2001. BTW they're polished stainless not glass. Does he still sell them for $75 and does anyone have a link?
