I'm running 17x8 on all fours with 225/45r17s. The front wheels hit the A-arm on tight, on the stop, turns. 17x7s should be just fine for the fronts.

1044 i paid today for 18's with pirelli p7000's, mounted, blanced and shipped. Also includes the lock lugs and wrench. 225/40's should fit for me

Im suprised that 8 inch wide wheels fit at all! I thought that i might have trouble with my 7.5's glad to hear otherwise!

I think your getting a pretty good deal considering that your getting Enkei's.

first off do some research !!! find pics of who's car you like, the way it sets and the way the rubber looks on the tire and ask for their sizes.

go to some tire websites and do some research there for widths and side wall heights.. the more research you do the better off you will be.. nothing like taking someone else idea for the right tire and spanking down some MAJOR cash for some that you think looks like sh*t when you pull them out of the box..

I like the old school tire look with bigger rubber on the back than the front. others like that rubber band look all the way around (not saying that's wrong) just a different look.. so figure out what you want and post some pics of that car and get the look YOU WANT !! 205/40/17's are small,i'm running a 215/45/17 in the front and 245/45/17 rears, i wouldn't want to go smaller than that but it's your car... RESEARCH it !!

Hell I dont know whats with all these v8 people with skinny little tires ... I mean if you wanna put that power on the ground go wide ... with a 7.5" wide rear rim 245 would probably be the max width on a tire ... if you can get an 8" wide rim that would be great, make sure enkei actually makes that model in 5x100 in that size, cause of times they won't make anything that wide for a 5x100 ... my 255-40r17's look nice, and fit great on an 8" wide rim.

Personally, I would look for some wider rims myself ... On both of my fieros I'm running 17x8 rear rims w/ 255-40-17's rear

Anyways if you can only get the skinny rims here is what I'd recomend for some nice cost effective tires ...

Front ... Yokohama AVS es100 215/45ZR17
Rear ... Yokohama AVS es100 245/40ZR18

If you manage to get what you want with the 8" wide rims ... go with ...

Front ... 225/45ZR17
Rear ... 255/35ZR18

1987 GT (Red) - Turbocharged 2.8, KYBs, Poly, WCF Suspension Setup, OZ's on yoko avs (will be ready for VegasFest!)

Another setup you may want to consider is the one that I am going with on my 3.4 dohc project car ...

Enkei RPF1 Rims ... light as hell, all the ricers don't have these ones either, they look like the rims you see on alot of f1 cars ...
http://www.enkei.com/highperformance/rpf1.htm

I'm going with 17x8 rears & 17x7.5 Fronts, mines an 88 so the offsets are a bit different for the pre 88 cars ... Also to fit wide rims and tires on a pre88 car you will need to cut the spring perch ... I don't know if your rear eibachs take up the whole perch, but if they do, you may have to ditch them for coil-overs. I had to go with coil-overs on my 87 GT to make the 255-40-17's fit.

Also Since you car is a pre 88 the offset will be a bit different ...

On the rear you'll wanna go with 17x8 with a 35mm offset (got this size on my 87 GT w/ OZ rims, the 35mm at this width looks great, perfectly inline with the fender lip)

On the front of a pre 88 car I'm not sure how a 48mm offset would look on a 17x7.5 rim ... so you may be better off going with the 17x8 35mm offset rims all the way around.

These rims should cost about $300 each ... may be a little more than the ones you were looking to get, but they are worth the money seeing that they come in a size that fits the fiero and the 17x8's only weigh 15.5 pounds a piece.

I'm also going to be ordering rims and tires here in a few days... I would like a little help, see if these could fit...

front - 215/45/17 on 17x7 rim
back - 235/45/17 on 17x8 rim

will the back fit without any problems?
[edit] car will also be dropped 2" ... Held drop spindles on the front and coilovers/kyb on the back
