Well here they are. Mind you it's only half done. I still have lots to do.
This is a shot of my stereo/nitrous/air-fuel ratio gauge. The stereo is just a piece of sh!t pioneer, but underneath is an AUDIO CONTROLER 5.1.
This is the new center console that i just built. It's made out of 3/8" M.D.F. I know what some of you are thinking. "3/8" is to thin for a box." I've fiberglassed the inside of it. So I think it's going to be strong enough.
The sub is a Kicker Solo 8". It might only be an 8 but it POUNDS pretty good.
This one shows the grill a little better. Surprisingly it's metal. It's a shad costly but it's worth it in my opinion. The sub enclosure works out to be around .4 cu/ft.
This is the kick panel style that my best freind came up with. It's 3/4" mdf cut to contour of the trim. It has a fiberglass edge to wrap around the trim. Mounted on the is 1" mdf to offset the magnet depth. I'm going to vinyl wrap it to match the trim colour.
This last one shows the "flush" mounting of the kick panel. My freind and I never liked kick panels the came out on an angle and took up leg/foot room. It might not be pointing at the "ideal" angle but it's better that than having some dumba$$ accidentaly cave in the grill with his foot. The speaker is a 6 1/4" kicker impulse component set. The tweeter is mounted up above the dash in the pillar.
As for the amps? I have 2 IX70.2 kicker amps powering everything. The one is running the mid/tweeter. And the other is pushing the sub in bridged-mono style. I have 2 more 6" mid drivers that i'm putting under the dash to add a little more mid bass. They are the kicker rmb 6's I believe. They are just going on a flat board that's getting mounted with the bottom of the dash.
Let me know if you like it, love it, hate it, or if you have any question?

Spline- Thanks for the comments and support. As for "busy"? Sometimes i feel that this car is NEVER going to be finished. When I do finish one project on the car, 4 more are thought up and the list just keeps on growing.
It was only a few months ago that I was ready to sell it, then I drove it for the first time this year and the "kid" in my sparked up again and I fell in love with it once more.
I don't think that you've seen me around edmonton, as I'm not living there yet. I'm moving to Sherwood Park in Aug. Right now we live up in Cold Lake.
My car is an '86 GT auto, black in colour.
Pontiac- The 70.2 amp from kicker puts out roughly 210 watts bridged mono @ 4 ohms. Right now the sub is getting allllll that. But like i mentioned above, i'm installing 2 rmb 6's under the dash, which is going to share the 210 watts.
The way it is wired up is as follows;
The sub is a dual voice coil 4 ohms/coil.
The coils are wired in series = 8 ohms. Since 8 ohms is double the impedence that the amp is rated at, therefore it only gets half of that 210 watts.
When I connect the 2 mids (under the dash), they are also 4 ohms/each. Wired in series that makes 8 ohms. When you have two sets of 8 ohms wired in parallel, in drop the impedance down to 4 ohms. Bringing the watts back up to 210. The sub & speakers are still @ 8 ohms though, therefore when i hook up the speakers, the sub will not "lose" any power going to it. Which is fine by me 'cause that sub rocks at 100 watts.
I didn't do anything about my computer. It is in the same place it was. The back of the box is parallel with the angle that the computer rests against the firewall.

If you look at the picture of the box, you can see the second row of screws. That is where the back of the box is. The sides extend past the back of the box to sit flush with the firewall.
Ds21 - The Kicker IX70.2 amps come with an electronic xover. You can select either highpass/lowpass.
For those who are not proficient in the stereo lingo, highpass means that the crossover will allow all the frequencies above the select cut off limit to go through to the speakers while attenuating all the frequencies below the selected frequency.
Low pass is just the opposite. It will allow all the frequencies below the selected cut off limit to go to the speakers, while blocking all the frequencies above it to the speakers.
I have selected 110 Hz low pass on the amplifier that is powering the subs and mids. As for a separate xover for the mids, I don't believe that will be necessary. If I do think that the mids are not able to handle the low freq's then I will add a capacitor (will have to determine the value) to remove any unwanted low bass.
As for the tweeters being in the posts, I'm a firm believer that, that is the most ideal place for them. They are pointed directly at the opposing seat. And they are CRYSTAL clear when turned up.
Oh, I see the sub and mids will both be working as subs, I thought you were going to be using the mids as midbass, like a 4-way system, I've got a Lanzar 6/ch. so I'll be running my system 3 -way triamped. Post pics when you get yours done! I like the Kicker square sub more cone area there, I think it sould look cool if you made a trim piece to go around it so it looks recesed or flush mounted!
P.S. the other thing you could have done is use wooden dowells as crossbraces to make up for the use of thinner wood, just a tip

General practice is between the headrests head level (I pointed mine underneath the sunroof latch at ear level) but to each his own
