I have my art final im finishing and im making a Promo Cd for a 1989 Fiero for my director class and i was wanted ot make it as realistic as possible.. I want to give it a track time

I figure the 89 concept for the most part weighted the same as the 88gt.. i would only imagine though that they would have used a 3.1 turbo motor instead of the 2.8

I was wondering what it would run in the quarter (speed) 0-60

here are the specs on the 88gt

88 GT 5-sp - 3.61
2.8/140/V-6
0-60 = 7.8-8.7
quarter = 16.4/81.9
top speed = 118(188.8)

here are the 3.1 specs

Engine Description 3.1L 60 degree V6 Turbocharged
Horsepower 205@5200
Torque (ft-lbs) 225@2100
Top Speed 128 mph
Max Engine Speed 5500 rpm
Block Cast Iron
Heads Aluminum
Valves 12
Displacement 3.1L (3100cc, 192ci)
Cylinders 6, V formation, opposed 60 degrees
Bore 89mm (3.503")
Stroke 84mm (3.3122")
Compression Ratio 8.8:1
Fuel Management MPFI (Multi Port Fuel Injection). Electronic, controlled by ECM
Fuel Premium unleaded, 91 pump oct.
VIN code V
Usage 1989-90 Grand Prix Turbo, 90 STE Turbo
Type Gen II - Same motor as 2.8L with an increased stroke

2.8 specs if needed

Engine Description (LB6) 2.8L 60 degree V6
Horsepower 140
Torque (ft-lbs) 160
Block Cast Iron
Heads Aluminum
Valves 12
Displacement 2.8L (2800cc, 173ci)
Cylinders 6, V formation, opposed 60 degrees
Bore 89mm (3.503")
Stroke 76mm (2.992")
Compression Ratio 8.9:1
Fuel Management MPFI (Multi Port Fuel Injection). Electronic, controlled by ECM
VIN code W
Type Gen II

thanks

The latest bit on the 89/90 Proto that I saw in Hot Rod magazine said 3.1 DOHC I think, not turbo. I'm not positive it was 3.1, but I know it was 3.x (not 3.4) and DOHC.

That's about the same HP as a 3.4 TDC Fiero. Some of those guys have been down the 1/4 mile. You might ask how well they ran.

Plugged your numbers (except for the C.R which I made 8.5/1) into a program called car Test. The program is fairly accurate, but I think he simplified the tire model too much.
Test weight of 2895 lbs.
Aero CD of .365
Frontal area of 18.6 Sq. Ft.
Weight distribution of 42/58

The top speed seems high, but it's reasonable compared to other cars with this horsepower/size.

the 90 (89 was going to be the same as 88) was suppose to have an all aluminum space frame to reduce weight significantly
