Ok right now I have a 2M6 with a 4 speed. The motor needs to be rebulit or I wanna get a 3.4L. Now when I go looking for a motor, what exactly do I need? What do I need to pull besides the motor? Since I got a 4 speed do I need to pull a motor from a manual tranny car? All your help will be greatly appreciated.

If you're pulling a 3.4 pushrod motor all you need to grab is the motor. All your wiring / engine controls will be from the 2.8 you currently have.

If your going to rebuild the engine anyway, its better to bore and stroke your 2.8L to a 3.2L, the fiero's intake can only support upto like 170HP or so, ive got a 3.4L in my 87GT which replaced my 3.1L, i really didnt notice any difference at all, but if your buying a running 3.4L that doesnt need a rebuild then go for it. but while your swapping around the fiero's intake and exhaust onto the 3.4L go ahead and pay the extra, send them to a machine shop or someone on the forum and (darrell morse) and have them ported and polished.

You will need a flywheel from an 88 Fiero 2.8 since the 3.4 is internally balanced and your current engine is not. Only the 88 2.8's in the Fiero were internally balanced the 85-87s were externally balanced.
You'll need injectors from the 3.4. (17's)
There have been a lot of people debating which size injector is best but the best running 3.4 i've ever seen uses 17's so that's why i suggest using them. You will also need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. This is a must to get it to run the best that it can.
The starter has to be drilled and tapped for the opposite side that the 3.4 currently will have when you get it because it's on the wrong side for the Fiero.
I seem to remember something about the oil pan but i can't remember.
