Well, with being on vacation this week, I decided to take a few trips to some junkyards. Got some great finds and had some good laughs.

yard one: Found an 86 Fiero that was fairly picked apart. But I did score some A/B pillars for $10 and four seakers for $12, the entire doors with the interior in great shape....power windows, locks and mirrors(mirrors had been stripped.) $40 for the pair of doors. Stumbled onto two power mirrors with wiring for $40 later that day on ebay. I cried when I saw that the sunroof roof was already broken at the pillars by the windshield.

Yard 2: Had a great laugh there! Two fieros in the lot. 1- 84 auto and 1- 85 2.5L auto. The yard owner wanted to sell the 84 w/141K "whole". It wasn't the worst 84 I've seen but it wasn't near even "good" condition. He wanted $500 for the whole car.....RIIIIGGGHHHHT. The 85 was even nastier in shape. He wasn't sure if that one ran. Wouldn't give me a price for any of the parts until he monkeyed around with it to see if it ran.

yard 3: They had the Isuzu tranny I desparately needed. At $125, I couldn't complain. No fieros in the lot, but I did find a Duster spoiler for $20. I was told I could have any spoiler out there for $20. Then I stumbled upon some very good condition grey leather bucket seats out of a Cutlass Supreme. Was quoted $30 for them. Anyone know if they'll fit in a Fiero????

All in All it was a pretty good couple of days. Now to get that tranny installed and a fiero towed up to my place to work on.

We saw a Fiero in a junkyard here that was, shall we say, rather interesting. It started out life as an '85 red SE with tan interior. Somewhere along the way it had been converted over to a silver GT notchback, with grey interior. One door had a power mirror, and the other didn't! They had gone to the trouble of adding the "Fiero GT" sticker to the rear decklid (probably swapped the whole lid from a donor car), but the sail panels still said "SE". The front fascia was recreated partly in Bondo. Oh, and the trunk was full of extra parts: O2 sensor, ignition modules, MAP sensors, etc... And about a months worth of garbage. Must've sat abandoned for a while.
