HELLLL YES IT WILL...

Here's how it came about!!

I just talked to a guy that run's a Automotive painting shop... I was calling him to get an estimate and we got to talking and he used to have 3 Fiero's... Matter of fact one of them even had a Archie kit too(he said it was top quality kit also..lol) anyway's..lol I was telling him about the 20th show and that I was wanting some color on it before I got there.... After talking to him, he IS going to go to the show himself... He does'nt have a computer right now, but he will join here when he get's one...
He said that IF I put up a sign that would read "Painted by Bailey's Economy Auto Painting".. He would give me a deal of a lifetime and warranty it for A YEAR on top of that.... He will prep SmoothGT spray a sealer on it, paint it, clear coat it, etc for...... <drum-roll>...... $253.31!!!!!!!! All he want's is some great advertising... Hell for that price, I will have a 10x10 sign with his name on it...LMAO!! Would'nt you..??

Anyway's, I just wanted to let ya'll know that you people will not be seeing SmoothGT in primer... You will see it in WHITE!!

ps. Interior is a wreck and will still be a wreck when I get there so, I guess I will be put in "Work in Progress" class... I wanted to be in jstricker's class with the Finale', etc...
Yahooooooo I am just estatic right now, My hand's are even shaking right now... LOL

SmoothGT!! Yippeee....

Cool but we won't recognize it if it is not primer. Everyone will be walking around looking for a primer SMOOTH car. Also that means it is done. What would you do then? Do you have a life beyond sanding and priming. J/K How about just clearing the primer so it shines.

Jncomutt...

Don't say that... 4 month's, I will go to jail for kicking his A$$!!! LOL you know what I mean...lol

Skitimer...

LMAO!! Life after SmoothGT..?? I still have the whole Custom interior(Dash, door panel's, center console, steering wheel surround, matching peice for behind the seat section, etc...) to do this Fall/Winter... So, I am not still sure I will EVER get completely finished..lol

PontiacSound...

You might want to ask around and mention that you Fiero is going to be in the LARGEST Pontiac Fiero show EVER...E
Even mention that the press will be there..lol They will, that's not a lie.

I am fixing to get on the phone and call some rim places while my luck is on the good side this morning...

LMAO!!! Well, he better not..lol No, serious I am not changing anything now... As soon as I finish the 'engine viewing window' then a little more bodywork and finish the new front fascia design(been put off for a while) and glass the front fascia to the Fender's it is heading for Bailey's... That will probably be in a few week's... He said he would have it for about 5 day's... I hope this is not a distant cousin of Jcomutt's...lol and it's not 4 month's there...

Glad to see you're excited Smooth, but I have a slight concern. You've spent A L O N G time on this car. Also keep in mind the incredible amount of bondo/glassing/filler, ect on it. Do you really want work that long and hard on your car to have it painted by a company thats got "economy painting" in thier name? And $235 is absolutly insanely cheap for a paint job...escpecially a car with as much body work on it as yours. Im not trying to rain on your parade, but I paint all my own Fieros, and I can assure you theres alot more to it than this guy is telling you..again, especially on a car w/ as much filler (ect) as yours has on it. Theres paint, paint reducers, primer, primer surfacers, fish eye eliminator, flex additive, clear coat, clear coat reducers, sanding supplies....man the supplies list goes on and on..and thats for painting "stock" Fieros. Not to mention TIME AND LABOR. Prep work is the key to a good paint job! I cant emphasize that enough. Dont get so rushed that you pick the quickest/cheapest way out..especially on that car. Remember, you get what you pay for.............

yeah Smoooooth all joking aside, I just painted my front chin spoiler...materials alone,ie: very good primer, base/clear paint, solvents to thin and clean, sand paper. etc was at the $300 mark... and that ain't all that went into it..

im a fan of Artic white, its nice and bright

White kicks ass, and its forgiving, a crappy white paint job will still look good

I know and when I got my first 'quote' from him it was around $800.00!! Then wqe started talking about Fiero's.... Him being a previous owner, and he's even going to the show... I got him TOTALLY PUMPED about Fiero's again... After I got him to that stage of excitment, I then proposed..lol Some advertising.. Then he refigured and that was for the paint only. I told him that I would do any extra snading or finishing work needed... I will be there when it is painted... You bet you A$$ I will be there.. It will be done right(The first time)...

Anyway's I looked at one truck that he painted about 8 month's ago... He lives about 6 miles from me... It looked fine. I know that I am not going to get a 'show quality job'... I just dont want to take SmoothGT to Pontiac with it primered. I can alway's repaint it this next winter, right?? I am just wanting some continous color over the WHOLE thing!!

Thank you for the concern's..

Steve

He said that he has 16 different white's to choose from.. I am probably going with the 'brightest' White he has.

Furious...

hey smoooooth is the paint a base/clear or enamel and if it has a hardner in it you can sand and buff and make it look a whole lot better than it will after it's painted.
