Hello, I was just wandering if its worth getting a 350 w/ carb, and adding fuel injection to it. Is it a PITA? Or straight forward. Oh yeah, and would a 305 fuel injector go on a 350? TIA.

It's pretty straight forward adding the TPI to a originally carbed engine.
The only modification you need to do for the pre-86 SBC heads is to oblong the 4 center holes in the intake manifold.

The 305 injectors will work just fine, just add an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and bump the fuel pressure up a few pounds.

Putting TPI on a pre 87 motor is a PITA. You will forever have troubles geting the intake to seal and there is no knock sensor and no O2 sensors yada yada. If you want a cheap engine look for a 305 out of a 89 or 90 caprice old body style with the one piece headlight. Why? well it has the correct heads, has every sensor you will need for TPI. ROLLER CAM and cheap to rebuild. I bought one for 120 bucks spent 230 for parts to rebuild and its been running strong for 3 years now. They come TBI so it is ALOT easier to do. That is what I plan on doing to my 305 in the future good luck BTW you can buy edlebroch alum intakes to run a Q- Jet on a TBI or TPI motor. I bet they have the same air flow 750cfm is what I have on mine

Troubles getting the intake to seal?
No problem if you oblong those 4 holes, and install and torque the intake properly.

The knock sensor gets screwed into one of the block drain holes.
O2 sensor, all you need to do drill a hole in the head pipe, weld a bung in and screw the sensor in.

Install a fan switch in one of the heads, wire the beast up, and your golden.
