Tina's Silver coupe has a 383.
My buddy has a 400 in his 88 GT and is putting a 406 into his other 88 GT.
Its really no different than putting in a 350. it just requires that you balance your rotating assembly to archies flywheel and balancer. Which can be expensive because it will use a lot of mallory metal in the process.
Of course you could get a forged crank that is internally balance and not have to have the major balancing issues. But in any event, yeah it can be done and has been done many times.
