Could someone run a car fax or auto check for me on 1g2pe11rxjp223582?

The guy told me it was a 84 or 85 but the vin says 88. It's a white coupe with tan interior. Iron Duke with a 5 speed. I know it was rearended but I would like to know more. It's a bankrupcy repo. They were asking 3,000 for it but I was told I could get it for around 1,000. I doubt that I will offer more then 750 since it dosn't run at all right now. I have an 86 SE but I figure it need around 1,500 to bring it back to decent shape.

Thanks for the help.

OK I'll play the fool. I've only had my car since Feb. and still learning the history etc of Fieros. How do I look at a coupe and tell if it's a 84 or 88? Or for that matter how do you look at any Fiero and tell the year?

The 10th position of the VIN tells the year.

E = 1984
F = 1985
G = 1986
H = 1987
J = 1988

fiero.net has a VIN decoder on it.

88 has 1 strut tower rings, 84-87 have 3 strut tower oval caps! is another quick way but the safest the front rpo codes has the vin# and should match the vin# in the windshield, if so, then follow the above info!

Are there other visual ques as to a cars vintage. I learned the hard way how to tell if the sail panel is from an 84. It fits an 86 but the pins are different and there is nothing to hold it in place. (By the way does anyone need a 84 driver side sail panel? I'll sell it cheap.)
