This may be an absolutely retarded question but I havent done any home work yet so here goes:
Can you convert a 3.4L to a 3.4L dohc or are the blocks different? not a simple head swap i assume. there would be a chain, gear or belt system to adapt also i would assume.
Someone fill me in or point me to the right site. Thanks

Thanks for the info on the blocks. will the DOHC be a direct swap with the non?

The nose thingy was aluminum but was recently sold due to the huge ugly factor.

The DOHC block has no provisions for lifters. The push-rod block has no provisions for moving oil to the heads.

They are not interchangeable in any shape or form.

sorry, what i was asking was will the 3.4L dohc bolt up in place of the non dohc or is the block bolt patterns different. thanks.
