im in the market for rubber, its for a set of stock GT wheels (86-87) on my 86 se i am thinking about the stock size in the front, (whatever that is) and i want the same Dia. as stock in the rear, BUT, wider

i will have WCF 2" drop springs up front, W/ their coil overs in the rear

i NEED good wet traction, and possibly OK-Good Snow traction and of corse Great looks, with an attractive Tread pattern, and of corse the lower the price, the better

im just unsure of what size in the rear biengs i want the same dia. as stock, But wider
any reccomendations??

Sounds like you want the same tires I've got on my Formula:

Bridgestone Potenza RE950

205-60/15 Front 215-60/15 Rear

Nope, they aren't the cheapest tires, but they are hands down the best wet weather tires I've EVER seen, and they handle very well in the dry as well. For my $$$, in stock sizes, they are the ONLY tire to put on my Fiero. I have driven through standing water at 60mph like it was dry pavement, and on dry pavement they handle great! Check them out on Tire Rack for sizes, prices, and some independant road tests.

Oh, and they have a 400 treadwear rating and a 45,000 mile treadwear warranty, too.

Ah, but which Potenzas? Bridgestone has a lot of different tires all with the Potenza name on them. You want the RE950's. They are the highest performance all-season tire Bridgestone makes in the stock sizes AFAIK.

I have the RE950s on my Formula also. If you want to do some AutoX with your street tires, I'd highly recommend them. They stick very well for a real street tire, but with the higher tread wear they'll last a while. They do really well in rain too. I think I remember reading the tread design was derived from a Formula One rain tire.

They look good, just like the picture. I have 205/60 front (narrower 88 front wheels) and 215/60 rear. If I had it to do again, I would have gone with 225/60 rear. I think they would look better on the rim, give a little more traction and not throw the speedometer off enough to worry about.

I gave something like $350 delivered from Tire Rack. www.tirerack.com Then add mounting/balancing to that.

They aren't very good on snow though. I haven't driven them that much in snow, but I don't think I'd give them an OK-Good rating, more like Poor-OK. If that's a big concern, they may not be for you.

Edit: I forgot to mention, they have a pretty stiff sidewall too. For AutoX I usually run 35psi front and 40psi rear with contact only going to the ^ mark on the side of the tread.

No you wouldn't. They don't come in that size.

Kumhos make baby jesus cry.

You may want to look at a Yokohama avid tour if your after milage and snow traction. If you want less milage and snow traction but a lot higher dry traction I would check out the avid V4.

im running yokohama AVS dB
very good tire, dry traction is awesome, wet traction is almost as good as dry. Ummm snow traction is pretty much not there even though its rated as a high performance all season tire.

If they were available at the time i would have bought the Yoko ES100's lower tradwear rating = more dry traction, they probably take a hit on the wet traction though. and they arent an all season rated tire so i wouldnt even look at snow.

Do some research on Tire Rack. That's how I decided on my tires.
