The GT goes into the paint shop tomorrow. My friend/co-worker (boss) is going to help me do the painting. Panel by little panel. If I can get a camera I will snap some pics of the evolution and the final paint! Wish me luck!!!

Good show. Painting is one of those things that gives instant gratification. Too many people are intimidated by it though. Its really not rocket science. I try to find cars for myself that are mechanicaly sound but bodywork is all screwed up. To me its one of the easiest and fastest mods

Hey.. I wish I could say the same about doing my own painting... I have my car in the shop right now. Been there since the first week of January actually. I can't WAIT for this baby to be done. I'm gettin the whole body sanded to plastic, filled etc, 3 coats of primer, then 3 step paint. I told the guy to take his time, so its takin longer than normal. BUT with all the snow and these crappy roads, I don't mind it at all..

Well GOOD LUCK!

Sand...sand...prime...sand...paint...buff... Don't forget to sand. Woohoo!

Can't wait to see the new paint.

What tri-color effect are you planning? I hope it has Blue in it.

Mine is going to be Candy apple red. Not the 2 step Candy system. Just the name of the paint. I am going for about 4 base coats and than follow up with 3 coats of clear. Should be a good day! I have painted before but this time it's personel!! My buddy is bringing the camera so hopefully I will get some pics of the event!

I predict that you're in for a good 18 hours of painting-- you'll have bloodshot eyes by the time you leave the shop...Time just flies in the paint booth.

Let me know if I'm right or not. ;o)
