I just noticed a funny thing today. I put up a Pontiac Fiero 1986 Do-It-Yourself Manual up on eBay and when I was looking at it, I noticed that one of the cars that is shown in two pictures in the book is a 1985 GT! I had assumed it was an 86 SE and hadn't paid much attention and then all of a sudden, the silver aero effects hit me as being wrong! I love it when I find stuff like that!

Looks like its the same book as the 1985 because I can open mine up and see those exact same pages. The cover looks the same too, except mine is beige. Pontiac got caught for being cheap

Yep... I believe you are right. And now that I am looking closer, I see that in some of the diagrams the cars have center vents over the engine like an 84.

What's the 'do-it-yourself' manual? Is that the same as the factory manual (the one that's about $100 at the Fiero Store)?

How Bizarre. I noticed they have changed it in my version of the same book but in the back still has pictures of an 85 GT and 84s. Also some of the diagrams do indeed have 84 engine vents.

Heck, even the 87 & 88 factory service manuals I have use pictures from other years, other models, incorrect pictures, etc.

It's a small manual, a little smaller than the owner's manual, if I remember right, with information on maintenance you can do yourself. You can still find them for sale on ebay and other places. In fact, I thought I saw one for sale earlier in the Mall, but I could be wrong..

It was part of the factory package when you bought a new Fiero. Fieros very rarely have the factory manuals with them. Most people buy a Fiero, then jump on eBay to get the manuals... This is the first Do-It-Yourself manual I have ever seen. My 86 is beong stripped so I don't need it. If you want one cheap...
Here it is!

And this one is not a reproduction, but the real thing. Of course, reproductions would be in better shape but there is something about having the original. I'd love to find this for my 88!
