The Finale has both a trunklid and a hatchlid. As it comes from Archie, and if you choose to use both, the engine would be covered.
Many people elect to leave off the trunklid and use a separate cover for the trunk, using only the hatch for a cover.
On ours, I cut down an '84 engine cover grate to fit in the area over the engine in Archie's trunklid so that although it's grated, you can still clearly see the plenum and part of the engine for those people that don't know it's a mid-engine design.
We also set ours up with a cable system that when the hatch is opened, the trunklid also opens. The trunklid from Archie does not (and cannot) cover the whole width of the trunk so I made a filler piece that covers that and the trunklid comes down on that. It seals as tightly as a factory lid to keep dust and water out, but it's kind of rough in comparison to the rest of the car as I've never gone back and properly filled and finished it.
If you search for finale, you should find my posts with a lot of pictures on the construction and finished car.
