Whats the fastest (top speed) that you have ever heard of a modified fiero reaching? This is my first post and thought that this would be an interesting discussion. I guess aerodynamic stability would be the main issue. It seems that the aerodynamics of the fiero are quite good, except for the rear glass drop off, which is not exactly an optimal angle for aerodynamics.

125 ruffly the speedo only goes to 120. but it was pinned. my fiero is stock i have a long straight away with no cars from vegas to reno it handles better at 120+ then at 80.
First of all let me Welcome you to the Forum . Not a bad first thread , like V-8 Archie says " How fast do you want to go " . Horse Power always equates to money , there is no getty arourd it .
Have had my 85 Sport coupe up to 118 mph . it's a 4-Banger , was running along side of my buddys Corvette , just to see what the little engine that could would do ! I rebuilt the engine . Had to lift off the throttle , strong side winds . The car started to dance a bit . Plus I had no lower front air dam , ( my wife wiped it out on a curb ) . The front end started to lift , I felt as if I was driveing on ice .
Hope this helps .

I don't think 140 on a dyno counts, simply because at that speed aerodynamics do make a difference. Horsepower has alot to do with topspeed, but so does gearing, rolling resistance, and drag.

the fastest i've heard of was something like 160-170mph. 406 smallblock zumalt conversion. that was in the hotrod magazine that had the pro street fiero. i think around mar. '86.
remember this is "heard of". it was stated in the magazine and i'm just repeating it as a responce to the thread (it's a shame you have to add a disclaimer for almost anying you post these days).

Fastest I've gone in a Fiero was a passenger of a local MN forum member. It was in a 350 v8 getrag 5-speed Fastback GT and we hit 150-155 MPH after doing the calculation of tire size, gearing ratio, and RPM.
The car felt stable and this was with the stock rims! The front was lowered with Suspension Techniques springs maybe that helped in some the stability factor.
