I just downloaded 7.01 from gnutella, excellent but takes quite a bit of power, my 550mhz, 96mb ram, and 16mb apg makes it very very slow.

I'm using 6.01... I liked 5.5 better honestly... I'll give 7 a try at some point. When you think that I start using Photoshop 1.0 when it first came out! WOW! I've been doing this too long! haha

I've been using everything a long time, Jim! haha.. I started doing graphic design on a Mac way back in 1985, just shortly after Mac's were intorduced in 84. I was using almost everything in Version 1.0... I do have to admit that when it come to re-coloring or modifying a car with Photoshop that you pretty much kick my butt! I'm still trying to get that part down.

I happily use Paint Shop Pro 6. Its a version behind, but its also $520 cheaper then Adobe (according to pcconnection.com). Never seen anything ThaT special with Adobe.

--Edit--
Uh, lets try $610 difference ($700 vs $90). Man, basic math. Where did it go.

I use V6.0, though I far prefer 5.5...

I *did* have a legal version of 5.0, though I acquired the version I was using from Morpheus... when I got the legal copy from a friend who'd upgraded and no longer needed his CD.. it was in many pieces. the case and CD were shattered.. guess the geniuses at the post office don't know what the word "FRAGILE" means.. and yes, it was in a padded CD envelope..
anyway, long story short.. I use 6, but want to be back using 5.5...

as for the other image editing progs.. nothing can touch photoshop.

p.s. I started with V3.05 on Win 3.11

I might upgrade to 7.0 then, my biggest complaint with V6.0 is the crappy text tool..

I have Version 7 on my Desktop here, and version 6 on my laptop. I much prefer the small changes from 6 to 7. The text tool has more features in 7, nice touch. There's still many things I don't understand yet though, but I'm learning.

Some of my works \/

Guess I'll have to load up 7 and see what all the fuss is about. I had 6 forever before I finally moved to it from 5.5. I disliked 6 enough that even though I have 7, I really didn't want to see what else went wrong! haha

Now I am looking forward to seeing what went right!
