Hey, I was wondering if anyone has a good source for a good set of quality lug nuts that would go good with my Gold lace rims.
I have bought several sets from different autoparts stores and the quality of the chrome plating must be poor since they start to show signs of rust in about 6 - 7 months.
Would really like a set in a anodized gold, but chrome is fine also.

I normally use either McGard or Gorrila. Both have excellent quality chrome plating. The McGard lugs on my car are 3 years old with no signs of rust.

i've gotten a few sets of those tuner lug nuts (that you use like a big hex key with) that seem pretty nice. haven't had to take the off and on much to scratch them up much though.

i have to say though, what i don't like about them is they need that big hex key to take them off, but each set i've gotten can use the same key, so your wheels aren't locked for anyone else who has a set or can get a key. i've heard there's some kind of lock set that matches up to them but i haven't seen one.

McGard would be my suggestion also. I have had them for about 5 years with no problems.

For colored ones, You could get their "Spline Drive" lug nuts.

Actually, just FYI you can take tuner lugs off with a standard 3/8 inch ratchet extension.

Thanks for the info. I like the lifetime rust guarentee McGards gives just what I need for this humid rainy Louisiana weather....going to go try and find a link to the Gorrila brand that Chester also mentioned and have a look. Didn't see any in the Gold though in the McGards, well as someone said "You can't have everything, where would you put it"!

And after you get your nice shiny new nuts... errr, lug nuts... go to a good tool place and find a set (or just the one you need) of a nylon lined socket. These stop the metal on metal contact of a typical socket, and prevent the chrome from getting chipped off (which is where most of the rust comes from).

You can also try lining a normal impact socket with masking/duct/electrical tape, but it doesn't last long.
