Ever since I was a little kid I loves the styling of Lotus Esprit. My uncle had one when I was like 6 and that thing handled so good and exeptional power for a 4 cyl turbo, 5 speed. I really have fell in love with the new Esprit and wonder if theres a body kit out there for Fieros to make it a Lotus.
------------------ 1986 Pontiac Fiero 2.8 pocket ported, gasket matched complete intake. Still has no nut. 3.4l turbocharged project in process!
It may look as good or better to some folks, and I have never had the chance to drive or take a ride in a shop top Fiero, but I have driven a 1995.5 Esprit S4S, and that is one hell of a car.
Build quality: Lotus is maybe 4-5% better than GM, only because of the leather used.
Speed: The S4S I drove was said to do 0-60 in 4.7 or something, took about 10 seconds to get from 80-120 in 5th on highway..... DAMN.
I am 15. It is the ONLY 'supercar' I have driven. Gorgeous. Fast. Expensive. Exotic.
Driving down the road, people stare, point, revv engines, tailgate, walk in front of you, walk beside you, scream from windows, get out of cars, etc. Its WONDERFUL.
I would love an Esprit body kit, esp the new one with the cool tails, and since only 60 or something more will be made, it would be a good tribute.

our local Lotus dealer and the owners son Todd is a personal friend of mine and my fathers through the Alfa Romeo Club. (164 S) he's got an 89 Turbo Esprit for sale lip-stick on snowcorn, (red, on really light tan) for $28k it dynos at 280hp and 330lbft it has a boost upgrade and 01 OZ Lotus Modular 17" wheels. has 31k miles.
i WILL have a turbo esprit... modeled my gt after one.. next step.. to have one. they aren't that fast or even all that exceptional, it's like and Aston or bugatti.. you buy it to impress yourself not to impress others.. cause you wont' win any races but you'll have a hell of a good time getting there. I had an 88 Commerative edition artic on oyster turbo esprit for prom my senior year (95)... everyone else had a limo.. i drove myself. it was a very fun night... -of driving of course-

You just described a typical drive through town for me! I couldn't count the number of times people have yelled at me in intersections, chased me down, approached me at gas stations, etc.
Of course upon hearing my car its rather obvious its more than the average Fiero.
Btw, I also Love Lotus cars! Great pics Flasy! And I think SLAMMED87GT's pics illustrate just how close to our beloved cars already are!

By the way... I don't know if you noticed but in the pics of the car on the track at PIR, I buzzed that corner so tight (in the smaller pic) that the two Driver's side wheels are OFF THE GROUND!!!
