So I'm in the left lane of traffic going about 70 in a 65 passing cars to my right when I can see a 300Z coming up on me like I'm going backwards. I get over in the right lane to let him go on by and gets up beside me and starts throttling his car up and down. He stays like this for 2miles or so just beside me holding up traffic an locking me in the right lane. Finally we get to a light and have to stop. Now I figured a 300Z would out gun my Fiero but I thought I'd modestly see how it would run. We took off and I noticed I was out in front and could hear his car tacking, I got on mine some more and was tacking close to 5 at around 60 when I backed off(I have 150K and it hasn't been rebuilt). His nose was at my rear bumper when I did that. He looked as though he was going to get me in the top end... I was just shocked that the Fiero out did him on the low end and mine's an auto. Is his car sick?

If his car was a non-turbo (heck, even if it was a turbo) you'll take him off the line every time. The 300zx does seem to have a bit better mid to high speed acceleration (from 50+). I've "played" with this comparison quite a bit seeing as how my best friend drives an '88 300ZX with a 5-speed...

Oh, noooooo! Now I hope this tidbit doesnt make it back to a 300Z forum! or else here we go again! argghh But I sort of know what your saying, I had a automatic V6 SE and some yahoo in a SHO Taurus wanted to have at it, I figured I didnt have much a of a chance but what the hell, light went green I had the Holeshot, just mashed it and went! expecting to see him go wizzing past my window at any moment but he never did! hehe. he was about 2 cars behind all the way to bout 60 I Tapped the brake lights and claimed the victory. suprised me though!

Yeah anouther 300zx kill! I also raced this hot shot loud mouth in his turbo 300zx. He went on for months trashing my car and all fieros in general. Well one day I was bringing my car into the shop and figured why not. He has a $500 boost controller and all that rice junk. It wasent even close I wouped his a$$ buy 5 car lengths. He wasent such a hotshot after all ha I laughed at him all day!!
