I bought a pioneer premier CD player from a friend a while ago from his eclipse. I had an old pioneer that had gotten stolen. But the adapter for the old one didn't fit the new one. So I had my brother splice the wire for the eclipse one so he could use it for the new pioneer. Now its a big mess back there and my speakers don't wanna come on just the subwoofer. Can I buy an adapter for the back of the CD player for the fiero or what can I do to clean up the mess behind the CD player cause I don't know what wires goto what or anything. I know the wires go from the back of the CD player to a big black boxy type thing.

Also how did ya'll get to fit these CD players in there with a good fit. Do you have to knock out that metal peice in the back? I am not sure how to get it out. Thanx

Are you missing the origianl harness that comes out of the CD deck? if so you should be able to order one from pioneer, if your missing the harness that plugs into the fiero wiring, you should be able to get that at any place that installs stereos. But you'll still have to splice these two together.

I need an adapter that goes straight from the black box adapter straight into the cd player not meet half way and half to spice every wire. I have no clue what I am doing and I wanna learn . But I know its a total mess back there and I need to make it neater. Wires are all spliced and held by tape and they can easy come undone. As to what I think is why my factory speakers won't come on at all.
But if I am in dream land and have to splice then I am gonna take it to my kicker dealer.

Not exactly sure I follow what you're looking for. If it's a pre-made wiring harness to plug into the back of the radio at one end and the factory harness in the car on the other, then you're dreaming. They'd have to make harnesses for every conceiviable combination of radio and automobile.

However, it's not that hard to splice them together. Each harness will have a label what the wire is for. Just match them up and connect. I wouldn't just twist & use tape though...either get some nice crimp connectors, or use wire nuts.

If you have a digi-cam, pull the headunit out and take some pics. Then anyone of us can help you. I will personally walk you through if you can take pics.

You can pull the plactic housing out to get the metal piece out. It's riveted on, so you have to drill them out. Unfortunatly that platic piece runs all the way back to the ECM. Kind of a pain to remove.

I had mine out already and removed it while it was. I then screwed it back on, so it was removable when I needed it to be.

It all else fails you could probably just break it off... But I would not recomend it.
