What a fiasco! I need an EGR valve and an automatic tranny mount for my 1987 4-banger SE. The EGR valve is toast and the rubber in the tranny mount is disintegrated. So I went to the auto parts store (Discount Auto) to get the parts. THAT was a mistake. Here's why:
1) They don't have the correct part number for the auto tranny mount. Their database says that the auto tranny used two mounts, one on each side of the transmission, when in fact it uses a single mount in the center.
2) They couldn't find the correct EGR valve in their database. We had to bust out the manuals and start flipping pages til we found it. When we did find it, they checked the part number and none of their stores in Central Florida had it.
So then I went to Pep Boys. My experience there was not much better. They also had the wrong part numbers for the tranny mount. They found the EGR valve in their database, but had to special order it at the price of $64.99 plus shipping. The counter guy implied that I was mistaken about the tranny mount, and I invited him to go out in the parking lot and look at my car. I then gave him a dirty look and left.
Finally I went to NAPA. When all else fails, I always go to NAPA and they set things straight. Well, not this time! They also had the wrong part numbers for the tranny mount, and wanted to charge me $64.99 for an EGR valve (although they did have it in stock).
Just on a whim, I checked out the Fiero Store. Lo and behold, they had the AC Delco EGR valve for $56.69 and the correct tranny mount for $39.95. Needless to say, they got my business.

Actually, this is the first time I've bought anything from the Fiero Store. Some of their parts are a little overpriced, and other people's bickerings have made me wary of doing business with them.
But they have exactly the parts I need when nobody else does. And the prices (including shipping) for these particular parts are competitive with the aftermarket parts at the chain stores.
As long as I get the parts undamaged in the proper amount of time, I'll be a happy camper. I might even buy from them again.

On the Fiero store I needed a rear inner tie rod end. No one else could get me one so I called the Fiero store and ordered it at 4pm on a Tuesday and on Wednesday 8am it was waiting for me to pick it up at the UPS office. This was regular ground. I live about 500 miles from them. Thats what I call quik shipping.

If I remember correctly, FS will give you a 10% discount if you are a Fiero Club member. They won't offer it, you'll have to remind them. Save you a few $$ anyway.
I like 'em and have never had any complaints. Good luck installing your tranny mount... I will be doing mine someday next year for a weekend project!

I've been dealing with the FS for a number of years now, and have no complaints what so ever.
Sure on some things their prices are a little more than others, but you can't beat their service.
The FS gets parts here faster than any other suppliers that I deal with in the US.
I have had 2 minor issues with the FS over the past 10 years, and all it took was a quick phonecall, and they had everything straightened out within 2 days.

I have purchased parts from the Fiero Store twice so far, and I am happy with what I recieved. The shipping was particularly(is that even a word?) fast, however, the packaging is one gripe I have. Both of my boxes were broken open, but luckily nothing was missing or damaged. Of course, some of the fault goes to the shipping company also.
I agree about the prices, some items are a bit overpriced, but hey, many items are expensive for any 15 year old car which only a small number were made. So I guess I don't have any room to complain there either.
Overall, I am satisfied with their service. However, I still think Rodney Dickman is still the king! Quick shipping, great packaging, and very good prices.
FS has had some... questionable buisness ethics, but their products overall are good, but I'll buy fromo Rodney a thousand times first. (his quality is better.)
I've been happy with everything I've bought from FS, though I wouldn't buy everything they stock...

The first place I'll always go is Rodney Dickman. If I need something that he doesn't have, then I'll use the Fiero Store. I've gotten quite a bit of stuff from both places and have no complaints at all!

Blacktree, the 87-88 autos only have one tranny mount, the rest have two tranny mounts. I used to drive a 87 SE too. They wear out dogbones faster since they have one less mount. Did you know the 87 SE with a 2.5 engine was one of the rarest Fieros? Only a little more than 1,200 units made.

I Have had good luck with the fiero store except for a few things that were on backorder for ever.
BUT...I did notice some of the things the sell are still available at GM. If you get any wholesale discount for a fiero club or a business, GM is cheaper than the fiero store. Not always, but often.
Good company overall.

I have a question for all you Rodney Dickman supporters. I can understand that he has good quality and is a good guy, but he only has a handful of products. How could you possibly need to order from him more than 1 or 2 times. I am honestly just wondering. (PS I just ordered some items from Rodney)
The Fiero Store has always done me good and has virtually every part you could need. Although their prices are certainly on the high side (sometimes VERY high) I still buy from them when the locals don't have what I need.

Well.... I personally never had enough free cash to order EVERYTHING that I wanted from Rodney in just a few orders
That and Rodney keeps adding stuff... And everytime I order stuff from him it shows up the next day (no kidding! I think he knows what I'm going to order before I do).
And most of the time... if he doesn't have it.. He'll tell you where you can get it.
but maybe I'm biased

I love the Fiero Store. I've ordered from them more times than I can remember off hand...never had a single problem. Ive also ordered from Rodney Dickman. Same thing as well...great service. Only "problems" I have w/ RD (and they're not really even problems) is that he's somewhat limited on what he has to offer. To complicate matters, he had that problem w/ GM, and now alot of the things he offered are no longer available. I was getting ready to buy a Fiero spare tire cover and some Fiero wheel sticker overlays...neither of which he offers anymore (he still offers them, but w/o the Fiero logo on them). Its not his fault, I know, but still sux. I like both places.

For parts still in production (all GM parts, not just Fiero), the cheapest way to buy them is at the below listed link. It sometimes helps if you know the part number.
Did you know the 87 SE with a 2.5 engine was one of the rarest Fieros? Only a little more than 1,200 units made.
I became aware of this fact shortly after buying the car. And to think I'm driving it into the ground as my daily driver! It has just under 165K miles on the odometer. I take pretty good care of it, though.
I've bought a large amount of parts from the Fiero Store and not once have I had a problem. Always shipped immediately. Yes they are more expensive on some parts, but they also offer parts not found anywhere else and also develope new parts. I don't see "any" other vendor with the professional approach that the Fiero Store puts forth with their free catalogues and the well designed website. I think to many Fiero owners have jumped on the bash bandwagon when they claim the Fiero Store is a rip off.

In my opinion, the Fiero Store is excellent. If you want the RIGHT PART FAST,call the Fiero Store. Their excellent service justifies the costs, not to mention time saved, and no running to auto part stores, hoping someone there knows what their doing. No long lines, and the part is shipped wherever you need it. I had a Formula rebuilt at a friends house(hi Jim)and the correct parts were always there before I was. My Formulas just waking up at 80, thanks to their performance kit. Next in line if the part need not be new, Kickhill. We should be very appreciative of these peoples services. Try an auto parts store for a crossover coolant tube.....not !
I would also like to point out that the Fiero store always contributes to all the major Fiero shows like the Dells and they contributed heavily to fierorama. They were one of our major sponsors for that event. I was the one that dealt with them in getting the money and they were very willing to contribute and sent the check immediately! Just wanted people to know that they're not just in it for the money. I have also ordered many things from them and have also never experienced any problems at all.
